6 Questions With Vanilla Vargas

Vanilla Vargas is an up-and-coming luchadora from the island of Puerto Rico who is starting to make major moves in the wrestling industry. Although she was a trained professional wrestler, her home promotion in Puerto Rico at the time, the World Wrestling Council used her as the manager of superstar Angel Fashion. But she got wrestling work in Mexico as Lady Boricua and on the U.S. indy scene. This summer, she made a major move from WWC to Puerto Rico’s newest promotion, World Wrestling League, reuniting with Angel Fashion and being involved in the hottest angle on the island, wrestling in a main event slot opposite L.A.X. of Global Force Wrestling. In addition to that, she has been a regular in Cleveland Knights Championship Wrestling in the United States, where she is their Women’s champion. She will also be making an appearance next month in Guyana. She was able to take time out of her busy schedule to answer a few questions about how she got into wrestling, WWL, CKCW and where the future might be for her.

The Curtain Jerker: Why wrestling? Why join the wrestling business?

Vanilla Vargas: I was not a fan of what I do prior to starting, but it was a way to spend time with my father and I became passionate for the artistic part.

The Curtain Jerker: The first time I noticed you was as the “Valet” of Angel Fashion in WWC, but you did not fight much in WWC. Was that difficult training and then not working a lot in shows on your home promotion at the time?

Vanilla Vargas: We are a product for the company in which we work and carry the role that the company needs. I learned a lot and I knew more.

The Curtain Jerker: When I saw you wrestle, it was for CMLL under the name of Lady Boricua. You even wrestled in the famous Arena Mexico, how was the experience for you?

Vanilla Vargas: It was a wonderful experience full of much learning.

The Curtain Jerker: You recently made the move with former WWC stars Angel Fashion and Mike Mendoza to the World Wrestling League. How did that come about and what made you do the movement?

Vanilla Vargas: Well WWL put up an offer which I found much more favorable.

The Curtain Jerker: In addition, you have been in demand near my part of the United States for Cleveland Knights Championship Wrestling, where you are currently the Women’s Champion, how has the experience been in the US?

Vanilla Vargas: Well although it was not the first time in the US, CKCW is a very professional company, has great potential and always aims at giving the best to the fan.

The Curtain Jerker: Finally, what is Vanilla Vargas’s future? Where would you like to see your career go? Is the dream of being in WWE or another top-level promotion or is the program you are currently in, with WWL, CMLL and CKCW make you happy?

Vanilla Vargas: I am a very ambitious woman and I always want to continue advancing and although I do not always see a WWE in my head I would take it if it were given, in the meantime I keep looking forward
