Davie’s Dungeon: Bored, Bored, Bored!!!

Welcome to the dungeon!

At this moment I am so bored with wrestling that it’s hard for me to sit down and watch a full show. Usually after Wrestlemania I get a little irritated with the product and don’t seem to enjoy it until around SummerSlam but I can’t recall a time when I got as bored as I am now with the WWE.

This isn’t a knock on the current superstars as there are some brilliant new talent who are making their mark but I am struggling to stay interested in a full broadcast. I haven’t had access to a laptop for a while until last week and it hasn’t bothered me one bit that I haven’t been able to keep up-to-date with everything that’s been going on.

I always like to log on to Twitter and see what people have to say about what’s going on and read other people’s opinions on the product, but with limited access to Twitter for a while I couldn’t read what everyone was saying. Considering how much I love the WWE, it’s sad that I am so disinterested right now.

I don’t know if it’s the current storylines or whether I just need to take a break from watching for a while but I just don’t care.

I sat down to write this article and I struggled to think of anything that is going on right now in the WWE that I find interesting enough to write about. I usually watch all of RAW and listen to podcasts from the likes of Steve Austin and Jim Ross to get inspiration for my article but I couldn’t watch RAW, not because I don’t want to but just because there’s nothing going on that I want to see.

It’s been a while since I sat down and watched a full episode of RAW, the last one I can just about remember was the show after Wrestlemania. I even got bored watching the episode from London and that’s usually one of the best shows of the year.

I can’t remember the last time I watched Smackdown, that show is seemingly pointless now and I personally think it should be scrapped along with Main Event. If the WWE went back to a 2 hour RAW show a week then I would be more than happy to sit down and try to enjoy it but 3 hours is too long.

There is so much shit that they put in to try and fill the 3 hours that it’s turning me off the product. I thought I would be used to it by now but there’s so many commercial breaks and pathetic segments that I would rather find something else to watch.

It’s a shame that a lifelong fan feels this way when the new characters are so good. The Shield and the Wyatt Family are taking over the WWE and it’s great to see them getting so much focus but because of the rest of the crap that is shown, it stops me from really taking an interest in the show.

I don’t know whether I should totally stop watching the product for a while and maybe look back at some of more exciting times in the WWE to try and regain my passion, or whether to try and sit through a few weeks of RAW to see if I will enjoy it again.

I wonder how many lifelong fans feel like giving up on watching at times.
