Davie’s Dungeon: Possible Feud Of The Year?

Welcome to the dungeon!

Finally something has happened in the WWE to catch my attention! The return of Chris Jericho was a welcome sight and to have him feud with Bray Wyatt is brilliant booking. Wyatt had a good feud with John Cena but Y2J is on another level when it comes to in-ring skills.

One thing that will keep my attention during this feud is the promos we will see. Wyatt and Jericho are brilliant on the mic and they know how to keep the audience hanging on every word they say. Bray Wyatt has cut some of the most epic promos in recent memory and by doing so he has gained many followers.

One of the only problems with Wyatt is that he is supposed to be a heel, but his promos have been that damn good that the fans have been split between cheering him and booing him. Chris Jericho however, knows how to make the fans love or hate him when he speaks.

Pairing Wyatt up with Jericho can only be a good thing. Hopefully Y2J will be able to show Bray Wyatt how to really make the people hate him like they should. I think if the WWE didn’t have so many stale and annoying characters then we would be able to hate the Wyatts but because they are such a breath of fresh air, many of us can’t help but love them.

The Bray Wyatt/John Cena feud should have been the ultimate good guy against the creepy bad guy but it didn’t work out like that. Fans are so bored of Cena that they will cheer for anyone who goes against him. It was good idea to have them feud to get Bray Wyatt over as a big deal but it didn’t help him to become a true heel.

The John Cena character has long been past its sell-by-date. It’s no wonder fans chant ‘same old shit’ when we have seen the same thing every week for the past 8-10 years. I think he should have taken more time off than he did when he was injured and come back with a bit of an edge.

Unlike John Cena, Y2J knows when it’s time to take a step back. Some part-timers can be annoying when they come and go but Jericho has paid his dues and the fans respect what he has achieved in the business. Every time he returns the fans are able to get behind him because he has made us believe in him. He has proved himself on the mic and in the ring.

There’s no doubt Jericho is going to push Bray Wyatt to the next level. They are likely going to have some great battles on the mic but Y2J will be able to make Wyatt a main-event star by making him prove his worth in the ring.

There are very few wrestlers these days who know what to do in the ring to keep the fans attention from bell-to-bell. Jericho is able to do that and hopefully we will get to see more of what Bray Wyatt can do in the ring.

I may not watch WWE as much right now as I have done in the past but this is one feud that is going to keep my attention and I think this has a good chance to be the feud of the year if it’s done right. The creative team should let Chris Jericho lead Bray Wyatt and teach him everything he can. If he does, Wyatt will no doubt be able to take the next step up to be a main-event star.
