Davie’s Dungeon: Predictable Once Again

Welcome to the dungeon!

WWE Battleground is this Sunday and I couldn’t care less if I missed it. The main-event would be intriguing to watch if it wasn’t so obvious who is going to win. Can anyone really see any other scenario other than a John Cena win?

I know I rarely watch RAW these days but it would seem like a huge mistake to take the title off him so soon after winning it. He is the top guy in the company and has been for a long time so it makes sense for him to be champion, no matter how much the fans dislike it.

I can’t see Kane winning as that would make no sense. I have said it before and I’ll say it again, Kane should retire. His time has come and gone and now it seems as though he is there to fill a gap in the roster. Yes, he can still go in the ring but he has been doing the same thing for so long that it has become boring.

Randy Orton could win the championship as it would make sense for Roman Reigns to challenge him in the future. It would be the simple rule of the good guy versus the bad guy. However, I don’t see Orton as the champion again for a while because he wasn’t the most interesting champion the WWE have ever had.

I think the WWE chose to have a fatal 4 way match at Battleground because if they went for a one on one match with Cena and Reigns it would be too obvious that Cena would win. I can imagine that in the heads of the ‘creative’ team, a fatal 4 way match would split fans opinions on who will win. It won’t, or at least it shouldn’t.

Anyone with an ounce of common sense can see that it is way too soon for Roman Reigns to become the WWE World Heavyweight Champion. No doubt his time will eventually come, but it should happen at Wrestlemania 31. He has the ability to be the future of the company for the next decade and it is only right that the WWE use their biggest show of the year to establish him as the future.

If it wasn’t for Daniel Bryan’s injury, we would be looking at a totally different scenario right now. He was meant to be the future of the company and he still could be if he tones down his style in the ring, I feel though that the longer he is away the harder it will be for him to regain his spot as the fans firm favourite.

Roman Reigns is taking that spot and I can see him becoming champion at Wrestlemania after months of trying, just like Daniel Bryan. I would like to see Bryan and Reigns have a one-on-one match for the championship at ‘Mania with both as fan favourites, it would be the perfect way for the WWE to show that they are looking at the future instead of relying on stars like Randy Orton and John Cena.

Come this Sunday, I fully expect a John Cena win and nothing less. Sadly it doesn’t interest me as it seems too predictable but at this time it seems as the right outcome.
