Done in 90 seconds, Survivor Series Fallout, Goldberg/Lesnar. By @Ciaran_Heel

Did we really see that coming? The heavily hyped Brock Lesnar/Goldberg match lasted a whole 90 seconds as the returning WCW icon literally flattened the WWE’s resident dominant beast. We all discussed possible outcomes of the Survivor Series main event, but did anyone imagine the Goldberg would defeat Brock so quickly on such a huge stage. There is no doubt that jaws dropped last night and mouths were left gaping at the result, I personally cannot fathom what happened and for what reason it happened the way it did. As much as we all wanted the complete opposite of their abysmal match 12 years prior, no one thought Brock would be dominated so easily and in such quick fashion. As quick as the match was the aftermath was similar, as Goldberg celebrated in the ring with his son the show almost immediately ended and we were left wondering what in the hell just happened.

Many questions have been and will be raised following the Survivor Series, with Raw tonight questions will be expected to answered by the company. News broke late last night that Goldberg has inked a contract to appear at the Royal Rumble, does this possibly indicate a rematch with Lesnar or a possible Rumble win to appear at Wrestlemania? There is so many paths WWE could go down with the decision they made last night, is Brock now just a man, capable of losing to others on the roster or, was the victory of 49 year old Goldberg just a one off. You also have to question if the duration of the bout was changed due to the fact that Shane McMahon wasn’t able to appear and cost Lesnar, which up until last night was a possibility. After a two year build of making Brock the most dominant force in sports entertainment, his loss came as a huge shock last night. In the two years prior he has beaten a collection of veterans and future headliners, so why when it came to him losing was a part timer chosen?

With Goldberg scheduled to appear on Raw tonight we should get an idea of what’s next for him, I would prefer and I think most would not want  to see him tangle with Brock once more. Lesnar however needs to establish his aura once more, I think he was defeated in such a away that WWE could now have him face a plethora of talent from the undercard. No matter our opinion on the result or how the match went, there is no doubt that it will be a big talking point in the next few day and will forever be a memorable Survivor Series moment. As soon as Goldberg returned WWE automatically pinned themselves into a corner, how could they after all the build and emotional return have him be defeated, it would have been nonsensical. After having some time to let the result sink in maybe it was the only way it could have gone down, however maybe it wasn’t. Lesnar’s undefeated streak should have maybe been made into a Wrestlemania moment, for the past two years he was dominant, strong, protected and pushed to the heavens, therefore why waste it with a semi-retired part timer. As much as a spectacle a Goldberg and Lesnar competitive match could have been, WWE is very much obsessed with social media, likes and shares and maybe this played a part.
