History of Bobby Roode

Another TNA legend has jumped ship to the WWE. This time it is the classic wrestler Bobby Roode who automatically joins the NXT roster. Roode is in the list of recent TNA legends who have jumped ship including AJ Styles, Samoa Joe and Austin Aries. Roode recently left TNA due to a pay disagreement and joins a long list of elite talent that NXT currently has. This piece is go into Bobby Roode’s career and just what the future may bring for the IT Factor.

Roode began his training in 1998 in Peterborough, Ontario under the tutelage of Sean Morley and Shane Sewell. Roode would spend a lot of his young wrestling days participating in Canadian promotions before working for WWE in numerous dark matches between 1998 and 2004. In may 2004, Bobby Roode would make his debut for TNA and would join the stable of Team Canada. Roode would leave Team Canada in July 2015, and would enjoy a long singles career before creating the tag team of Beer Money, Inc. Beer Money would have incredible feuds both as heels and faces and winning the tag titles on numerous occasions, Roode would also join Fortune another dominating faction.

On November 3rd, 2011 Roode would win his first TNA World Heavyweight title by defeating former Beer Money, Inc member James Storm. Roode would turn heel by hitting Storm with a beer bottle to win the match. Roode would go on to become the longest running TNA World Heavyweight Champion in the history of TNA. Roode would lose and win numerous TNA titles before his eventual departure on March 16, 2016 after 12 long years.

Roode would then not be seen until NXT Takeover Dallas. Roode was shown at ringside just before the NXT title was defended by Fin Balor, showing he had arrived. Roode was confirmed this week to have finally signed a long term deal with the company and would be debuting shortly on NXT.

Roode is one of the best technical wrestlers in the business and provided some of the best matches in the history of TNA. Will he be the IT Factor in WWE I really don’t know, however he is perfect to join the Authority and become the IT Factor of professional wrestling once again. He is perfect on the mic and offers a long list of feuds that could be rivaled in WWE. With AJ Styles being the only main event member from TNA past it surely can’t be long before two of these talents meet once again. I for one, cannot wait to see Roode arrive in WWE and I think its a perfect signing for the company.
