Rasslin RAW Roundup: 2-Pack

The Rasslin Roundup is back and going to catch you up on two episodes of Monday night RAW. The first was from March 21st and will also include last night’s airing from March 29th; the big send off leading up to Wrestlemania.

The March 21st edition had fallout and post-results from Roadblock and had a Triple H and Dean Ambrose segment. To this, Triple H’s response was how much you can “stick it” to Dean. The week prior was the League of Nations and Alberto Del Rio. This week was Brawn Strowman of the Wyatt’s to face Dean in the main event.

In the other bouts, Big E defeated Rusev in the Opener, and Chris Jericho defeated Fandango in the Wrestlemania Rewind match. This was Jericho’s first match as a full blown official heel while drumming up his feud with former partner, AJ Styles. On the flip side, Kevin Owens wrestled AJ Styles and hopefully this budding feud and match will reappear once again with a meatier storyline.

In featured action, Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch wrestled to a draw and we did not find out who the number one contender was for Charlotte on this night. Charlotte looked strong and victorious in her match in a Roadblock rematch. Charlotte defeated Natalya once again this night on RAW. The Miz defeated Dolph Ziggler as they are trying to position themselves for a future title shot, and with eyes set on the IC title. Through other machinations and maneuvering from the superstars, and fellow mid-carders; other men are setting their sights on Owens; and the IC title for Mania. This big schmozz and conglomerate of 6 other wrestlers was determined to have an equal opportunity, as deemed from Stephanie McMahon. This was decided from a triple threat match featuring Zach Ryder, Sin Cara and Stardust which ended in a no-contest.

The March 28th edition of RAW opened up with the opening promo and related backstage segments to drum up the Taker-Shane bout at Mania. Taker came out first and addressed his point of view, with Shane rebutting naturally. This led to an in ring altercation to beef up and hype the no DQ Hell in the Cell bout. Furthermore, more pressure is on Undertaker by Mr. McMahon. It was decreed by McMahon last week that if Undertaker did not win; then this too would be his last Mania to ever wrestle on.

Zach Ryder defeated Chris Jericho with a surprise school boy, as Styles taunted and officially goaded Jericho into a match at Mania. Charlotte defeated Becky Lynch in singles competition with Sasha on commentary, and making her presence known at ringside. Kane and The Big Show wrestled to a no contest versus Social Outcast members Axel and Dallas. These men led to a big schmozz and were double-choke-slammed for their efforts. Other Andre the Giant battle royal members made it into the fray; and are featured for Mania.

Kofi of the New Day drummed up their momentum and subsequent bout at Mania. New Day in a handicap match will not defend the titles and will face the League of Nations at Mania. Kofi was victorious tonight versus member Alberto Del Rio in singles competition. Jonathan Coachman also hyped the ESPN involvement to promote Mania. He (Coachman) appeared on RAW, after Kofi’s victory.

Kalisto defeated Konnor of the Ascension but stood his ground in an in-ring altercation versus Mania opponent for the US title match, Ryback. Other developments led are: The Dudley’s and Uso’s to be on the kick-off show at Mania, as will the Battle Royal. Triple H and Stephanie in an in-ring promo addressed the audience about results of what will happen regarding the title and landscape with the Authority still in power. This led to Roman seeking revenge and obvious rebuttal; and also returned the same sequence to close out the show.

Emma defeated Paige in divas action and will represent two teams at Mania. Team Bad and Beautiful are the villains and will face the team of Paige, Natalya, Alicia Foxx and Brie Bella in a 5-on-5 tag team bout. The Paige team had the ace in the hole of a mystery partner. This partner and in an odd choice (given being a heel in NXT) was revealed on RAW as Eva Marie.

Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman had an in-ring promo, which was met with Dean Ambrose; and who visually expressed all the weapons he will use in their bout. Mania is shaping up, starting at 6 PM/ET on USA with three matches; and the Network live event has seven other bouts.

The main event was a 6 man tag team bout, and in which all 6 men will be in the IC title Ladder match at Mania. The team of Sami Zayn, Dolph Ziggler and Sin Cara defeated Miz, Kevin Owens and Stardust.
