RAW Roundup: March 14th 2016

WWE RAW was a show chuck full of the preceding storylines; with fallout from Roadblock this past Saturday.

The Roadblock abbreviated results contain victories from: Triple H over Dean Ambrose. Charlotte remained victorious in a Divas title defense over Natalya. The New Day representatives Kofi and Big E retained their tag team titles. The New Day defeated Wade Barrett and Sheamus in the opening bout. Sami Zayn defeated Stardust, and Chris Jericho was victorious over Jack Swagger. Brock Lesnar defeated Luke Harper in what looked like a handicap match; but no physical altercation occurred between Bray Wyatt. Dawson and Wilder retained their NXT tag titles over their challengers and number-one contenders Enzo and Cass.

The RAW results from Monday March 14th are as follows: The New Day utilized the Freebird Rule en route to a victory. Their budding feud and opponents are the League of Nation members Rusev and Alberto Del Rio in a losing effort over Big E and Xavier Woods. Ryback defeated Sin Cara, with two emphatic Shell-shock maneuvers. In a post-match promo, Ryback laid out a future challenge to Kalisto for the United States title. The scuttlebutt theory is Ryback and Kalisto are to battle at Wrestlemania.

We saw continued developments leading up to Wrestlemania with a promo and subsequent altercation between Brock Lesnar and Dean Ambrose. The last segment and leading to dead air featured a trio of personalities in the ring. The Undertaker addressed his sentiments and choke slammed his Wrestlemania opponent Shane McMahon during Shane’s rebuttal. However, the Chairman Mr. McMahon had his fair share of goading the two men and made his presence and intentions known regarding Wrestlemania and this bout between Shane and Undertaker.

In other developments, Triple H and Stephanie had a promo in the ring, and was answered by Dolph Ziggler. Ziggler would be booked into a match against heavyweight champion- The Game, Triple H. Ziggler in a losing effort, lost to Triple H and is unclear as to what Dolph’s role will be, come Wrestlemania time. Triple H had a victory over Ziggler, and was subject to a vengeance beat-down as payback from the returning Roman Reigns.

In other matches, the Uso’s defeated The Social Outcast members Bo Dallas and Adam Rose. Kevin Owens was at ringside on commentary during the Sami Zayn victory over the Miz. The main event featured Chris Jericho with a pre-match promo on Styles, as Jericho defeated Neville. Neville sadly would roll his ankle over in the match, and is unknown thus far if his ankle is broken because of this injury.

In conclusion, the Neville injury has led to the injury bug biting key WWE talent; and Cesaro is remaining optimistic for a return and a time-table for such. And video from other news indicates that Seth Rollins is working out and getting close to getting back into the swing of things; while Cena is going to miss Wrestlemania and Nikki Bella still recovers from her neck surgery.

Let’s tune in next week and see how the “feature stories” still continue to develop and create the landscape for Wrestlemania.
