#TeamSLTD: Our Favourite Elimination Chamber Matches (@SLDTWrestling)

Once again Team SLTD have gotten together to give our thoughts on our favourite ever Elimination Chamber matches! Below are the ones that have stood out for us! Do you agree or have you got a different all-time favourite? Let us know in the comments below!

@BigMatchSully (Monster Match Sully)
Without a doubt, it has to be the original Elimination Chamber at Summer Survivor Series 2002. Overall it had arguably the most star-studded list of competitors including the five time (five time, five time, five time, five time) WCW Champion Booker T and the King of Kings Triple H defending his title.

What made this match truly special was not just the insane nature of the match, not the incredible high spots performed by RVD, but the fact that the match ended with HBK winning his final World Championship in his Hall of Fame Career.

There have been many classics when it comes to Elimination Chamber, whether you’re talking about the actual PPV, or No Way Out, or WrestleMania, or even No Mercy.

My favourite elimination chamber match though has to be No Way Out 2009’s Elimination Chamber match which featured John Cena, who was the champion at the time going up against Mike Knox, Chris Jericho, Kane, Rey Mysterio and what was supposed to be Kofi Kingston, but got attacked by Edge so Edge took his place, and also walked out the winner.

The match was fantastic and the way Edge just run through the opponents was fantastic and was great storytelling. This is why that has to be my favourite Chamber match.

As I’m sure most of you are aware, my all-time favourite wrestler is The Heartbreak Kid, Shawn Michaels. So, being asked what my favourite Elimination Chamber match is didn’t take much deliberation. Just a few months after his return at SummerSlam 2002, Shawn Michaels won the first ever Elimination Chamber at Survivor Series 2002.

At the end of the day if this match between Triple H, Michaels, Booker T, Kane, Chris Jericho and Rob Van Dam was a complete dud then I doubt we’d be talking about our favourite chamber matches. I always find firsts better than lasts aside from the recent AJ vs Cena trilogy.

This match was something new, fresh, and exciting, and Shawn Michaels winning his first world championship since 1997 was a monumental moment and one that happened in my favourite Elimination Chamber match

My favourite Elimination Chamber match has to be when we saw The Big Show do anything he could to get his hands on Daniel Bryan! Bryan was the champ and lucky for him he was also one of the last ones to be released but that wasn’t going to Big Show going after him!

This match watching it now is random, to say the least with the Great Khali, Wade Barret, Cody Rhodes and Santino Marella! When Bryan hadn’t been released Big Show was not happy and after a slight taunt from Bryan decided to take matters into his own hands and pay Bryan a visit inside his pod!

Watching Big Show break his way in was amazing (not Goldberg destroying every pod amazing but amazing all the same!) and watching Bryan trying to get away was just as good! This match eventually coming down to Marella and Bryan even had me thinking for a slight second that we were getting a new champ however that was not meant to be and Bryan retained. This had to be one of the very view times that I was actually slightly gutted Bryan won!

There have been a lot of Elimination Chamber matches over the years (some may say too many) but to pick one is not easy. I think the first one will always be special because no-one knew what to expect.

That being said I think the Chamber match I enjoyed the most was at Summer Slam 2003, when Goldberg was basically a one-man army and took out everyone. He spends the whole match taking out everyone just to get to Triple H, this included spearing Jericho through the plexiglass pod, and punching and kicking his way through Triple H’s pod just to get his hands on the champ.
