As I’m sure you seen yesterday the SLTD Wrestling Team got together to talk about their favourite Royal Rumble Match in history. Well we have done its again and we are all back together to give you our predictions for who will win this years Royal Rumble Match and walk out as the WWE Champion.
As always let us just below who you think is going to walk out of Royal Rumble with the WWE Championship.
@Dan_089 (Twitter Manager) I think this years winner is going to be Triple H, surprise entrant at number 30 and come in and be the super heel and keep Roman away from the Title once more, culminating in a Mania match!
@TomRobinson5199 (Armbar Analysis) Brock Lesnar would be my ideal choice as the winner of the Royal Rumble match as he is no doubt somebody that can help Wrestlemania be a big draw as champion. Last year, he was the champion in the highest-grossing Wrestlemania so far. However, I do not believe WWE will go down that route and I think Michael Cole basically confirmed that fact on RAW a week or two ago when he referred to Lesnar as the favourite to win. Whenever the announcers refer to somebody as the favourite, usually that person doesn’t go on to win the Rumble. It’s like whenever they call the Big Show as the favourite to win. It acts as a way to go people excited for the wrestler that eliminates him. I think the one that eliminates Lesnar will probably be the one that wrestles him at Wrestlemania. I think Roman Reigns is the only full-blown top babyface that could possibly be in the main event of Wrestlemania right now (I count Brock as a tweener) and I don’t see any reason for him not to be in. It may not be everyone’s cup of tea to see the same man win it two times in a row, but the chances are it won’t have as big of a backlash as last year’s Rumble did. If there is, then at least they don’t have to commit with Roman fighting for the title.
@WWETOWNnation (YouTube Manager) I’m hoping Brock Lesnar to win the Royal Rumble this year. Why? Because even though he’s a part-timer I absolutely love it when he steps in the ring, I mean, is it only me that laughs because he’s destroying everyone in his sight? I also love to see him with the WWE World Heavyweight Championship gold around his waist and his reigns(not Roman) are always entertaining.
Slightly different response though, I THINK that Triple H will become the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion. Triple H will be #30, the claxon will go off and they’ll be a LOOOONNNNGGGG wait, King Of Kings music hits and Triple H comes out. Reigns(Roman this time) is in disbelief and eventually ends up getting eliminated to become the new champion. The next night on RAW, Roman Reigns gets fired and it all ends up with Triple H vs Roman Reigns at Wrestlemania.
@CallumOwen98 (Facebook Manager) AJ Styles? Bray Wyatt? Brock Lesnar? Daniel Bryan? Roman Reigns? Triple H? or The Undertaker? All these I believe should be the favourites to win on Sunday night but only one of them will be walking out the WWE World Heayweight Champion. Will it be The Undertaker, it would make sense considering this could be his final ever year wrestling, plus imagine if he walks into his Home-state of Texas as the champion. Heck could it be AJ Styles, who hasn’t offically signed with the WWE, but it is belived that he’ll be backstage on Sunday, so imagine the scenes if AJ Styles a man whose only stepped foot in a WWE ring was when he jobbed to The Hurricane, debuts (kind of) and wins the WWE World Heavyweight Chmpionship on his first night. Or could the Eater of Worlds win his first title in WWE? Can The Beast Incarnate win his second Royal Rumble match from only his second appearance in the match? Does Bryan get cleared in time to make a shocking, surprised and popular return to claim back the belt that he never lost? Does Reigns stick it up The Authority once again by entering in at number one and winning the whole thing, as WWE certainly to re-write history and currently in the history books the only man to win the Royal Rumble match after entering at number one was Chris Benoit. However none of these names above will win, as I firmly believe that the Cerebal Assain, the Kings of Kings, not the suit wearing authoritive figure we’ve got used to over the last few years, will win because Triple H winning the Rumble is best for business, as then there’s a guarnteed reason for the crowd to turn on the match and even boo for the third time running, as Triple H gets heel heat and he can and will put Reigns over at Wrestlemania 32, and let’s face it aside from his cuddely dad figure that he portrays down in NXT, he is really only the strong believable heel on the main roster.
Therefore the winner of Royal Rumble by entering at number 30, the Game Triple H
@ALFarrand (PPV Rewind) I was toying between Dean Ambrose, Kevin Owens and Daniel Bryan for the Final Four but chose Bryan to lead into something that I’ll explain in just a little bit. I’m convinced that Triple H is going to be the number 30 (or 40??) entrant and will go onto win leading to Reigns Vs. Triple H at Wrestlemania. Lesnar & Bryan are thrown in there because I believe that Bryan will pull the rope down as an enraged Lesnar charges at him, thus eliminating the Beast Incarnate. Obviously not happy with this, Lesnar then inserts himself back into the match, eliminating Bryan leading to Brock Lesnar Vs. Daniel Bryan at Wrestlemania. Will it happen? Probably not, but I’d like it too!
Final Four: Roman Reigns, Brock Lesnar, Triple H, Daniel Bryan.
Winner: Triple H
@Ciaran_1986 (Write Legend Write) AJ Styles is my favourite to win the Rumble, I feel there is zero point debuting him at the event if he isn’t going to win the title. Styles should be the hired gun of the McMahon’s, being presented that way won’t matter because he will be cheered for no matter what on Sunday. An Styles title win turns the Road to Wrestlemania upside down, new and unseen feuds are established on the spot. For me there is no other option. The time has come for AJ Styles to take his place, he is truly one of the greats and this Sunday he deserves nothing less than a win.
As you can see most of Team SLTD think that ‘The King of Kings’ Triple H is going to enter 30th in the Royal Rumble, and go on to become the new WWE Champion. But who do you think will win it all? Let us know below
