The Voice of Reason: What’s Next For The Diva’s Revolution?

Howdy peeps, The Voice of Reason back this week only on SLTD Wrestling.

Now I’ve been watching and thinking about the divas division for a while now, more so since the so called revolution has struck and I can honestly say the booking has been excellent. We get to see some longer matches with some great spots, and it’s not just he same 2 divas because we not get more than one match. I have nothing to be critical of for now, as I think this boost was long overdue and definitely needed. I guess for me it’s about taking this to another level.

So how would I do that? Well first of all, I would drop the name divas. Mick Foley said this recently and I could not agree more, let’s call it what it is, and that is the women’s division and the women’s championship. Bringing the elegance back is a must as for me, the word diva is now overused and quite frankly a bit tacky. This will also lead to a new belt altogether. One that doesn’t look like something made for 6 year old girls. The title belt itself is a representation not only of the division, but at the same time a representation of the company. If the WWE World Heavyweight Championship is the highest accolade in worldwide wrestling, then the WWE Women’s Championship should bear the same nature and crown. In my mind, a title similar to the WWEWHC belt, slightly smaller would be the way to go. The championship has to be desirable not only to call yourself a champion but visually also.
The talk of titles brings me to my next move, which would be a Women’s tag division. Right now there are 9-10 consistent divas which feature on the main roster. All of these divas can’t always go for the title, it doesn’t work. Yes there are regular feuds built on personal rivalries and dislikes, but there can always be more. Adding a few more divas into the mix and creating Women’s Tag Titles would be a great way to keep the momentum going. It gives divas who are still learning, and maybe not strong enough to hold their own singles career a chance at the spotlight.
There are always people who work better as a team than alone, and that will go for the divas division too. More importantly, it’ll give certain divas the chance to step up and make an impact on a different platform that we haven’t seen before. Think of it as a divas mid card.
With most of these changes, Charlotte could easily be the figure head. Yes she is the daughter of Ric Flair, but her talent speaks for itself. The last element that comes to mind is The Authority. If Triple H hand picks Seth Rollins to be the man, why can’t Stephanie McMahon pick Charlotte to be the woman? An Authority endorsed women’s champion is just another shakeup to take the divisions popularity and entertainment to a new level.
What do you think? Feel free to comment. Til next time.
