TNA: The Tides Are Turning…Or Are They…

Welcome all to my latest post. After last week, there seems to be a shift in the roster.

Despite MVP trying to do everything by the book, it seems he’s finally realised that you just can’t trust certain people.

In particular, I’m talking about Abyss after his all-out attack during last week’s main-event. There’s one thing that keeps running through my head though – at the moment, Abyss is doing everything Magnus wants, but how long is that going to last until he wants the glory for himself? His character is very unstable at the moment, so just how long will it be until he turns on Magnus?

In all honesty, I think it’s a real shame that Magnus has been led down this path by the powers-that-be. He’s got the ability and potential to be a great champion on his own merit, although he does make a great bad guy, and we all know that bad guys need a little help sometimes! How will this play out in the ring? MVP’s obviously going to want to get some revenge on Abyss and it’s not going to be long before Magnus has the heat turned up on him.

We’ve also see Angelina Love return to the Impact Zone recently. She was nothing but good to her former friends from the Beautiful People and, with a little encouragement, Velvet Sky seems to have taken the bait. But…lo and behold, the true colours of Angelina Love have shone through and after an attack on Madison Rayne, it looks like the Beautiful People are going to be the bad guys, having reformed without Madison.

What about the new character Willow? Does anybody like the angle they’re taking with him? I’m still not sure if I’m comfortable with it. Yes, he seems to be a good guy after taking out EC3 and Rockstar Spud, but what revenge are they likely to get on him?

The most disappointing moment from last week’s Impact was the fight between James Storm and Gunner.

A few years ago on Raw, I seem to remember there being a segment (and forgive me if I get this wrong) between Randy Orton and John Cena, where there was a shocking attack on Cena’s father by Orton. That very same thing happened last week on Impact, except it was Storm attacking Gunner’s father.

I’m all for storylines being reused or changed up for the new breed of fans that are watching now, some of whom probably never saw the moment between Cena and Orton, but it was all too familiar for me. I just hope that this isn’t a road that Impact will be going down on a regular basis. If they want to re-run storylines, that’s fine, but at least try to make them a little different.

But what do you all think about the latest happenings in the land of TNA with Abyss, Angelina Love, Willow and the Storm/Gunner feud? Feel free to leave your comments below, or you can catch me on Twitter. I’m @ecwdave
