So I thought I would do something different this week on Tybo Talks. With Night of Champions right around the corner, I thought it would be cool to do some fantasy booking for the WWE Titles. Would be cool if you could all join in too. So we all know who currently holds the titles in WWE, but if you could give each title to someone else on the roster would you? If you could who would it be? Let me know below. In the mean time who I would have as the Champions are below.
WWE World Heavyweight Championship
When it comes to the WWE Championship, I personally think Seth Rollins is a great champion and probably the best champion they have had in a long time. I was a fan of Lesnar as the champion but the issue I always had was that he wasn’t there every week. Now, that the WWE Champion is showing up on every Raw and Smackdown I realised just how much the product was missing not having the WWE Title there. But that’s the past, I think Rollins is a huge talent that is without a doubt going to be in the Championship picture for a long time.
Who should be the WWE World Heavyweight Champion? Daniel Bryan
I would without a doubt keep Rollins in the WWE Title picture. I would not necessarily have him as the WWE Champion, personally I would love to see Danial Bryan come back and win it. I think Bryan would be a great champion and unfortunately never got the chance to show what he could do with the belt. Also, could you imagine a Rollins vs. Bryan match for the WWE Championship? I think we can all agree, that would be a dream match.
Just to throw a ‘wild card’ into this, I would love to see Jack Swagger in the WWE Championship picture, I think he is an awesome talent and is completely under used in the company. I think he could have some great matches against anyone but Swagger vs. Rollins is something I don’t this we have ever seen, and add a big fight feel to that and it is a recipe for a great wrestling match.
Intercontinental Championship
When it comes to the Intercontinental Championship, I actually like Ryback as the Champion. Its just a shame that the Intercontinental Championship right now seems to be the the title that no one really cares about. I would say that without a doubt it is the ‘C’ Title in WWE right now. I think this has actually helped Ryback, as all eyes have not been on him.
Who should be the Intercontinental Champion? Neville
Although I do like Ryback, and I like him as the champion. I think Ryback adds something to the title, so I would keep him around the championship but I think the title should be held by young, new, fresh talent. I think a perfect Intercontinental Champion would be Neville. He is new, exciting to watch, and adds a newer dynamic to the title picture. Adding the Intercontinental Championship to the already established rivalry of Neville and Stardust would be great in my eyes. Personally, I really think Stardust should be Cody and in the WWE Championship picture but that dies not seem to be happening any time soon.
United States Championship
When it comes to the United States Championship, I’m sorry but I hate that Seth Rollins is the U.S Champion. It makes no sense to me why you would have one man with two title? Especially after all the work that has gone into building the secondary title. For me, it seems all the momentum that John Cena built over the last few months has all gone by giving the title to Rollins who has done absolutely nothing with it the last month, since winning it.
Who should be the Unites States Champion? John Cena
John Cena has done more for the U.S Title than anyone else in, honestly as long as I can remember. For the first time in years, the title actually meant something. With it getting defended every week with younger talent, it added a completely new dynamic to the title that has not been seen before. When Cena won the title I was very skeptical that it would work having a veteran as the U.S Champion and not in the WWE Championship picture. Like him or not, Cena made the title relevant again and that is no easy task. I think if he was to become the Champion again the ‘Open Challenges’ would continue and eventually an NXTer will beat him for it, if i was betting man my money would be on Finn Balor, Sami Zayn or Samoa Joe.
Tag Team Championship
When it comes to the Tag Team Championship, I think The New Day are killing it right now. I’m not sure if they are meant to be heels or faces but either way I am loving their gimmick at the minute. I have always been a huge fan of Tag Team wrestling and I think its looking very healthy at the minute in the WWE.
Who should be the Tag Team Champion? The New Day
This is one of those very rare occasions that I completely agree with what WWE are doing with the Tag Team Championships. The New Day are on fire right now, the dynamic between the three guys is great and you can see they are thinking up there own promos and segments. I also love that they are using the classic ‘Freebird’s Rule’ when wrestling as a threesome. I think the future of the Tag Team Championship is looking very bright, with the imminent return of The Usos, the recent return of The Dudley Boys, The Prime Time Players, the possibility of Harper and Strawman of the Wyatt Family entering the Tag Team division and the possible return of The Hardy Boyz, the tag team division looks like it could be the must watch titles in the near future.
Divas Championship
When it comes to the Divas Championship, I really do like that Nikki Bella is the Divas Champion. I know this is an unpopular decision, and that most people think that she is only the champion because of John Cena, but I don’t believe that. I do think that Cena helped Nikki a lot to get the the title, but Vince wouldn’t keep the Divas Championship on someone he did not see some sort of potential in. Especially to have here become the longest reigning Divas Champion in history.
Who Should be the Divas Champion? Sasha Banks
I have to be honest, it took me a lot of time to care about the Divas division. I’m sure this was the same with a lot of people, the divas were not all that good and it was fer and far between were we seen a really good divas match. I think AJ Lee and Paige started to chance that, and then the ‘Four Horsewomen’ (Charlotte, Becky, Bayley and Banks) blew that out the water in NXT. Since the Divas Revolution began its has been refreshing to see the divas get some TV time and actually do something interesting and new with the time. Now, the reason I think Sasha Banks should be Divas Champion is because I watched all of the WWE programming over SummerSlam weekend (NXT Takeover, SummerSlam and Raw) and without a doubt the best match on any card was Sasha Banks vs Bayley. Banks was amazing, and really stood out as the future of the divas division.
So there you have it. That is who i think should be the WWE Champions.
