Hey Everyone and welcome to the latest Wrestle Chica! As you all know by now my name is Rach and I am the First Lady of SLTD Wrestling.
This week I’ve caught up a little on NXT and it got me thinking can their Divas division survive after loosing so many big names and personalities that they have in such a short period of time. If you look at whose moved up to the main roster, NXT took a massive blow to their main Divas and if you look at who is actually left for Bayley to have matches with now. Once she has had her Iron Woman match with Sasha, is there actually anyone who is good enough to be a number one contender and have a match of the year contender like Bayley and Sasha?
Eva Marie
Now were do I start with Eva Marie!! When she was on Raw I was not her biggest fan because let’s face it she was pretty awful. You could tell she hadn’t had much time in the ring or training and looked really bad, with the way she moved in the ring and she was lets face it green. Moving her to NXT was for me the right move for her. She has been working her ass off while she has been there but for me she still has a lot more work to do before she should be the NXT Divas champion and before even being considered to move back up to the main roster. The work she is putting in has been paying off as there has been some improvements but for mistakes to be made like she has been means she is still a long way from getting where she wants to be. For me she hasn’t got what it takes, and hopefully this is just a yet, to be the next NXT Divas Champion and its only a matter of time before the fans get far too bored of her.
Emma
What’s happening with Emma right now am not entirely sure. One minute she was on the main roster working with Santino and was in a rivalry with Layla and Fandango. She then disappeared and turned back up on NXT to then go from the sweet Emmalution that everyone was loving (complete with dance moves) to this mean girl wannabe that the mean attitude just doesn’t suit. From what I’ve seen I haven’t really seen her wrestle much she’s just been backstage with Dana Brook and not really doing much other than telling people they are better than everyone else. I use to really like Emma but I think what they are doing with her is not as the saying goes “best for business”. I don’t think she suits being a heal and it just comes across as being a little cringy and awkward to watch. I think the best move for Emma would be to have her back to being a face and she could potentially work up to being a number one contender but its just not working at the moment.
Dana Brook
Again Dana is the same for me as Emma is. I don’t really know a lot about her other than I think she is possibly worse than Eva Marie in the ring (if that is even possible). I think the whole patting people on the head thing has to be the most annoying thing I have seen and this is possibly why I don’t really like her. Dana as a heel would work but I think doing the whole mean girl thing with Emma is where she is going wrong. Also what is with all the make up, no one needs to wear that much make up… Ever. There isn’t really a lot more to say about her. I think she needs to work on her in ring abilities a lot more as when I have seen her wrestle it hasn’t really been the best. Maybe with a bit more work people will start taking her a little more seriously but I can’t see this happening anytime soon and definitely not while she is with Emma.
Carmela
I really like Carmela and what I’ve seen of her. I love her with Enzo Amore and Big Cass, I think they work really well together and I love their entrance, anyone who can get the crowd that involved with before they have wrestled are doing something right and deserve to get the pushes they have been. I’ve seen Carmela wrestling a couple times on her own and I really like what I see. I seen her match with Eva Marie this week and personally I thought she carried her and got her through the match, the fact that this ended in a count out was a little annoying as it is slightly frustrating to see a decent Diva have to loose to someone like this to give them the push that WWE want her to have. I enjoy watching her in the ring and thought she was pretty decent on the mic which is always a good thing. I do believe that Carmela could be a number one contender and I do think she should be going that way and going out on her own a little more as I don’t wan’t her to get caught up in a similar story to Alexia Bliss as she deserves more than that.
Alexia Bliss
I’ll start by being completely honest I don’t really like her. I don’t get the gimmick and think she is really annoying. To be honest with you I think it’s because she talks for Blake and Murphy a lot and it just really annoys me. I haven’t really seen her wrestle so I can’t really pass judgement on how she is in the ring but from what I have seen of her outside of it she is definitely in the right place as she does need to develop a lot more. Her rivalry at the moment with Blue Pants is quite good. When I seen her always getting involved when Blake and Murphy were wrestling with the Vaudevillians the first thing I said is Blue Pants should join them as she is a perfect fit for them. However I can’t see it going anywhere as Blue Pants is not around enough to have a legit rivalry with anyone so this means that Alexia is just going to be lost with Blake and Murphy which am quite happy about as I don’t really want to see her being the next NXT Divas Champion.
Can the NXT Divas division survive with who they have? Honestly I can’t see it. Bayley is absolutely fantastic but she can only continue to be this by having fantastic matches. Her match with Sasha was definately a match of the year contender but with three of the four horsewomen gone this won’t be able to continue as there just isn’t talent good enough to main event matches with Bayley. This is really disappointing to see as NXT is doing fantastic but taking everyone away in one go is really going to hurt not only the Divas division but also Bayley. Who will be the next number one contender? To me right now there isn’t anyone. I think that Bayley needs to be moved up to the main roster and quickly before she gets stuck having to have these poor matches just because there is no one good enough to match her in the ring. I understand that taking Bayley away as well as everyone else is not the best thing for NXT right now but if they wait too long Bayley may get lost in the mix which is something I really hope does not happen.
The new faces coming into NXT, this week and in the coming weeks are really going to have to bring their A game. I’ve heard really good things about Asuka and think that she is going to be the next number one contender as I just can’t see it being anyone else at the moment. Like everyone else I haven’t seen anything of Nia Jax but for the sake of the NXT Divas division let’s hope she is good in the ring and can bring something amazing to NXT so that we can continue to have Divas matches as the main event. Who knows when the Four Horsewomen reunite on the main roster we may even see one at a WWE PPV. It is a Divas Revolution after all!
