WWMD – Making Mojo Rawley Marvellous Version 2.0

I always like to revisit things. Going back, refining, improving – you could even say rebuild redesign reclaim. Looking back at one of my earlier pieces, I looked at Mojo Rawley in depth. So, with the Royal Rumble fast approaching, let’s look at Mojo and how to make him marvellous, version 2.0!

Use the Royal Rumble as a launch pad

The Royal Rumble can help propel a wrestler into the WrestleMania picture, fact. Mojo could be used as either a wrecking machine or as an hanger-on during the match. I’d love to see him get a decent length of time in the match, 20 minutes say. Given 20 minutes fans could get behind Mojo, believe in Mojo and cheer for Mojo. He’s got all the tools needed for a push in the Rumble, he just needs the thumbs up from WWE Creative. I’d love to see him win the Rumble, however a series of eliminations would see me happy.

Give him multiple matches as a singles wrestler

Look at what happened when Enzo Amore got injured and Big Cass had the spotlight – he ran with it. Unfortunate as it is with Ryder being injured, now is the perfect time to give Mojo a chance to shine. Let him use the mic, let him do his thing in the ring. I’m not saying put him up against Styles or Ambrose, but give him a chance be put over. Give him a series of matches to drum up support and interest in him. Hell, it’d even give WWE Shop more merchandise to sell. It would be easy $$$ for WWE!

Have a mini feud with Curt Hawkins

Why Curt Hawkins I hear you ask yourself oh curious reader. Simple – he has history with Ryder, so it makes sense. You could see Hawkins vying to be Ryder’s partner when he comes back from injury and Mojo disagreeing. This could then turn into a mini feud between the two, with Hawkins putting over Mojo at a PPV event. Giving Mojo the time at a PPV to show what he can do means that he can take the next steps in his career. After all, winning the King of the Ring didn’t hurt Edge. Talking of Edge…..

Bring back the past with Edge and Mojo in the ring

One of the best uses of Edge since his retirement was his promo with John Cena before the Brock Lesnar match. Edge is one of the best speakers on the mic I’ve seen and can get a crowd interested in anything. Hell, he could get the crowd to pop at dog poo wrapped in tin foil. After the feud with Hawkins, have Mojo and Edge interact. Have Edge say that he had Curt Hawkins, but now would want Rawley. Use Edge put over Rawley as a legit, singles wrestler. As a finale, have Edge then introduce Rawley’s next singles opposition….

The final piece of the jig saw : Kurt Angle’s return

I’m a big fan of Kurt Angle and I’m a big fan of returning / part-time talent being used wisely. Having Rawley in a high profile match vs Kurt Angle makes sense. It allows Angle to put over talent, it allows Mojo to make a push into the upper echelons of the midcard scene. It means that a new, legit superstar could be made. WWE is short on talent that it has made. It’s short of creating its own talent at the moment. Giving Mojo the match against Angle would set a new standard, gives wrestlers coming through NXT something to aim for.

Closing thoughts

No doubt that there are endless scenarios for Mojo to go down. He could have a singles run and team back up with Ryder for example. All I know is that in a few years time Mojo could be, no should be, in the spotlight. At any rate, here’s looking to Mojo Rawley : Version 2.0.
