This week will be looking at the different matches coming up at this weekends Money in the Bank PPV. The final spotlight will be on the Women’s Money in the Bank Match, pitting Becky Lynch, Charlotte, Natalya, Tamina and Carmella. The graphic below is courtesy of WWE.com.
What would happen if Becky Lynch won?
Becky is my personal favourite to win. Slight bias maybe, but Becky was the inaugural SmackDown Women’s Champion and is a more of a long term project in terms of story line. With the current feuding over the belt I’d like to see Becky hold onto the briefcase for 6-7 months before cashing it in. Give her the build up and the chance to win over the crowd more and then rocket her up to stardom.
What would happen if Charlotte won?
Logically speaking, Charlotte should win the match. She has the story lines happening at the moment, SmackDown needs a lead and believable baby face, which Charlotte currently is. Giving her the briefcase gives her even more credibility and also the chance to turn heel in the future.
What would happen if Natalya won?
I would be really, really surprised. I think Natalya is an amazingly talented wrestler, but is always used poorly. She has the background, she has the personality, has the history but always is poorly booked. She can put over talent and make anyone look good, which is probably her role in this match. I’d love to be wrong but I don’t think I am.
What would happen if Tamina won?
I would be really, really, really surprised. Like so totally surprised I’d buy everyone who writes for SLTD Wrestling a beer. There is no logic for Tamina to win, at all. She has never been presented as a credible threat. Never been presented as legit singles wrestler. She’s always been the muscle behind a wrestler, never the wrestler itself. A shame, but WWE need to do some work with her if she is to be a star.
What would happen if Carmella won?
Carmella is the ultimate underdog in this match. She has been pushed and pulled at times, but can do well. Her association with James Ellsworth is, well, becoming annoying now. If she won, then it would be the continuation of that storyline. Ideally, I’d like to see this end. James Ellsworth could have been a decent midcarder, but he has lost all momentum and support.
What Would Matt Do?
I’d love to see some insane spots from Charlotte and Natalya, Ellsworth getting clocked by a ladder and Becky Lynch climbing the ladder to greatness.
