Big Cass – Standing Out?

We’ve now had two PPV events since the post Wrestlemania call ups, and having had time to settle into their new surroundings I believe there is one man who has stood out the most compared to his peers, and that man is Big Cass.

I don’t for one second believe anyone would have thought SAWFT would debut the Raw after Wrestlemania given they didn’t hold the NXT Tag Team Championship and still could have feuded with a few teams down in NXT, so seeing them debut was a massive surprise.

Those that followed NXT would have known what Enzo & Big Cass are all about. The trash talking of the charismatic Enzo and the brute force of Big Cass, however how many of you really believed that they would make such a massive splash in their first few appearances on the main roster?

As bad and as unfortunate as Enzo’s injury at Payback against The Vaudevillains was, has this been a blessing in disguise for both Big Cass and the WWE? Instead of being in the shadow of Enzo, Cass has now had time to shine on his own, showing just how much charisma he possess himself.

They have seemingly gone a bit of a throwback route with Cass, he turns up, talks a bit of smack, takes out whoever is in his sights then leaves. If the writers and management have planned for this to get Cass over in a big way or not is irrelevant as what Cass is doing, is working.

Whilst the other guys that have debuted such as The Vaudevillains, Baron Corbin & Apollo Crews haven’t done too badly, Big Cass is certainly casting a large shadow over them at the moment and excuse the pun but “You can’t teach that”.

The problems may arise when Enzo is cleared to return to in-ring action. The last time Enzo was injured for a while, Cass did start to make a name for himself as a singles competitor in NXT, but that kind of lost steam when Enzo returned. Now I am all for SAWFT as a team and would love to see them go far in the tag division.

However if Big Cass continues growing as he has been doing in this singles run, would WWE really kill what Cass had built up on his own in order to attempt to capitalise on SAWFT as a team? Or would they hold off to see just how far they can take Cass’s singles run? Without knowing how long Enzo is out it’s impossible to speculate, however I for one am enjoying Big Cass as a turn up/beat them up kind of guy.

So over to you, our readers, who has been your standout star of the newest debuts? What’s your views on Big Cass at the moment? Share your thoughts with me through the comments section below or tweet me.

Until next time.
