RAW: Payback to “Extreme”

Rasslin Roundup returns once again with the results from Payback on Sunday night, and also the May 2nd edition of RAW.

Mr. McMahon decided at Payback, that both points of view of his daughter and son; Stephanie and Shane respectively were viable enough to share the brand. So, both siblings will run RAW and undermining the other is surely soon to come.

Payback results are as follows; with Roman Reigns retaining his WWE title from AJ Styles. However, both will be in a rematch at Extreme Rules in a No DQ bout for the championship. The Miz would retain his IC title versus Cesaro on this event, and also the following rematch set on Monday’s RAW.

Charlotte would retain her Women’s title, and despite controversy re-enacting the Montreal Screw job and keeping the title from Natalya. However, both ladies are set to have a rematch at Extreme Rules with Ric Flair barred from ringside. Bret Hart was also in the corner of Natalya on Sunday also. The tag team title scene is also still up for grabs. An unfortunate injury to Enzo Amore, a concussion led to the loss and subsequent match stoppage; awarding it to the Vaudevillians. The Villains of Aiden English and Simon Gotch are the number one contenders for the New Day titles at E.R.

In other action, Dean Ambrose won with Dirty Deeds DDT to Chris Jericho. Stephanie took away, cancelled the Ambrose Asylum; replacing it back with the return of the Highlight Reel. Kevin Owens defeated Sami Zayn in singles competition. Dolph Ziggler was victorious over Baron Corbin, and Kalisto retains his United States title versus Ryback.

RAW had fallout from Sunday and future feud implications as a continuance of the drama and action. Emma defeated Becky Lynch in a women’s match, but oddly enough; where is Sasha Banks- despite initially being herald as the “queen”-pin and threat to the title. Sasha has seemingly been underutilized and vanished from TV, post-Mania. (Save for her victory with Summer Rae.).

Rusev won the battle royal by eliminating Zach Ryder as a second to last entrant. Rusev wins a United States title shot with Kalisto. An eight man tag was the opening bout on RAW. It featured all three of the New Day and Big Cass defeating the Dudley Boyz and Vaudevillians. Goldust and Fandango as “jealousy partners” wrestled Tyler Breeze and R-Truth.

The RAW main event was a six man tag team match and pitted The Family (Roman and the USO’s) versus AJ Styles and his Bullet Club friends from NJPW, Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows.
