Wrestle Chica – This Week in WWE

Hey Everyone and welcome to this weeks Wrestle Chica! As you hopefully know by now my name is Rach and I am the First Lady of SLTD Wrestling! This week I thought I would do something a little different and I wanted to give you my round up and thoughts about what has been happening the past week in the WWE.

RAW

This week there are only two things that really stand out for me on RAW, One; FINALLY demon Kane is back and Two; Welcome back to the John Cena United States Championship open challenge! Before I start is it just me or has anyone else noticed how long RAW was this week? Half way through I was wondering how long was left and when it was going to end, which isn’t really a good thing when you’re watching a 3 hour long show! I think there isn’t really enough going on at the minute to keep you gripped for the full 3 hours as I haven’t really noticed this before.

OK so back to what I am actually here to talk about and what I enjoyed about this weeks show. For me The Kane story line has to be my favourite! I am loving what they have done with him since bringing him back and think it was a good way to go making Seth completely paranoid about everything as I think this is how we are going to start to see the authority and Seth atmosphere rising to the point of a feud between Seth and Triple H (maybe just in time for WrestleMania 32).

Seeing Kane play the alter egos has been great to see, especially with him getting out of the ambulance to fix his own leg and go after Seth. This is leading to a great rivalry and I think this will make a great match at Hell in a Cell. I just hope they don’t keep it going too long so that we don’t see it go stale.

John Cena is back to being the United State Champion which means we are back to having the open challenge each week and what a first one we had! The New Day are fantastic at the minute and I loved that we got to see Xavier Woods wrestle for once as I can’t remember the last time we saw him do this, either for a tag team match or singles. The match itself wasn’t really the best with Big E and Kofi getting involved, kicked out and involved again.

For the match to then go into a six man tag team match was really annoying. I understand why it happened as they did have a match last night but it gets really annoying when we always end up with a match like this before some sort of event. All that being said I am happy to seen a championship being defended each week as it adds something to RAW that we don’t normally see.

Finally we got to see Bray and Reigns fight for what seems like the millionth time. We were told that this was going to be what ends their rivalry but what really annoys me is does anybody even know what these two are fighting about? I get Reigns is pissed over money in the bank but no one knows why Bray done it so we get to see these am pissed at you let’s do this matches but they all end up being the same and get boring. When I heard this was the match to end the rivalry I thought finally this is the last time I have to see this.

The fact that it finished with a count out was really annoying as it isn’t the end and now we have another match at another PPV to watch, that’s going to be the same as every other match. The fact that this is in a hell in a Cell match am hoping we do see something different but let’s face it we still aren’t going to see anything spectacular. I mean it’s not going to be a Mick Foley vs Undertaker match is it!

NXT

I’ve really started to enjoy watching NXT and have gone from catching it while it was on to wanting to put it on to watch it. I’ve really been enjoying it although some parts are really frustrating (Dana and Emma to name one), most of it is really good though and at times I am starting to prefer it to the main roster shows.

The Dusty Rhodes Memorial Tag Team Classic has been fantastic. I have been a little disappointed in the fact that not all the matches have been getting aired as I really wanted to see what everyone had to offer with being new to watching it but the matches I have seen I’ve liked.

This week we saw Samoa Joe and Finn Bálor vs Enzo Amore and Big Cass. I thought they had a great match. First I want to say I am slightly obsessed with Joe’s entrance. This is slightly a bit too much obsessed but I have to share this. I love the music and love the swag he walks out with and think it really works well for him as you don’t really see anyone walking out this way. That’s getting slightly side tracked though so back to the match. Overall the match was, for me, really good. I think they bring new things to the ring all the time. They all work really well together and some of the moves you see are insane.

The thing am noticing with NXT is you don’t get that sense of deja vu as the matches always seem to feel different. I think the guys bring a lot to each match and try to show off all their abilities rather than having the same old matches every time which is great for people watching it and this is probably why NXT has taken off as well as it has. Having the semi finals and the final on the same night has got me a little more excited about takeover to the point where I think am actually going to stay up to watch this one live which is a first for me.

The Tyler Breeze and Tommaso Ciampo match is another good example of this. They brought moves to the ring that you don’t normally see. OK the “horsey” thing round the ring was slightly weird but the move Ciampo done on the ropes was fantastic and it brings a different dynamic to what you are use to seeing on RAW and Smackdown. This may be down to them still being classes as developmental so they are able to experiment a little more but I don’t think not being in NXT should stop wrestlers on the main roster from taking a risk every now and again to being something different to the ring. Its these types of moves and matches that have the crowd going wild and that’s what we want to see.

So there you have it, this weeks Wrestle Chica! Let me know what you think about what’s been happening this week in the comments below. As always thanks for reading and before I go make sure to keep a look out for my predictions for NXT Takeover – Respect going up early next week.
