All aboard the Hype Train: Making Mojo Magnificent

Welcome to the second issue of WWMD which has a focus today on Mojo Rawley. Since coming up from NXT he has had a quiet time compared to some others. So how can Mojo Rawley go from NXT newcomer to a position higher up in the food chain? Let’s have a look and see!

1 – Hype Bros: Tag Champions

I’m the first to admit that I’m a Heath Slater and Rhyno fan and when they started teaming it was bliss, but Rawley and Ryder needs the belts more. I’ve followed them since they appeared on NXT and have always been a fan of how much Ryder went out of his way to help Rawley and they have a raw, natural chemistry that can’t be taught. A lengthy reign with the belts will help Rawley go a long way and help solidify Ryder’s position in the company too.

2 – Being the “Go To Guy”

Mojo needs to be the dominant side of the Hype Bros. When they first debuted everyone knew who Ryder was but not so much Rawley. Now the shift needs to go to Rawley as being the first person you think of when you hear Hype Bros. He has the move set and the looks to be a strong singles competitor but first he needs strengthening. Back in their day it was the same with Matt and Jeff Hardy, Bubba Ray and D-Von Dudley and Edge and Christian to name a few. All started as tag team specialists and nearly all of whom have gone on to individual success and championships.

3 – A Good Royal Rumble

Everyone knows the score with the Rumble. Allegedly anyone can win it, from a returning DDP, a debuting superstar for NXT or even Big Show (sorry, couldn’t help that one). Look at what strong Rumbles have done for wrestlers in the past – Kane, Roman Reigns, Chris Benoit, Maven to name a few. Yes, Mojo won’t win a Rumble anytime soon, but a string of eliminations can help him stand out more and edge his way up the pecking order. The manner of his elimination can also help him, especially if looking at any potential individual successes as a singles competitor.

4 – Individual Successes

As I’ve stated before, individual success is key for most wrestlers and Mojo is no different. I’m not saying put the WWE or Universal Championship on him, but look at the secondary level belts – US or Intercontinental Titles. He could have a decent run with them with the right push and the right build – look at how Kalisto was used with the US Title for example which came from the same direction as a RKO. There a lot of wrestlers who could be used to help put him over – a jealous Curt Hawkins looking on at Hype Bros?

5 – WrestleMania Moment

For this I actually googled WrestleMania moment. I see Daniel Bryan with the belts, Eddie Guerrero and Chris Benoit embracing, Brock Lesnar after beating the streak and….. John Morrison, Snooki and Trish Stratus. Seriously, go give it a look. Snooki. This is why Mojo deserves a WrestleMania moment and he could again use this to push himself more. He could follow Ryder’s example and win a singles title, Hype Bros could win/retain the belt or even could compete and win the Andre the Giant Battle Royale to help establish himself further.
