Finn Bálor; How to book the NXT Champion and his future with WWE

Ladies and Gentlemen my name is Callum Owen, AKA The Wrestling Brain. Two days ago on the WWE Network, the NXT Championship was on the line between Kevin Owens and the home-crowd favourite, Finn Bálor. After a brutal 20 minutes of death-defying action, The Demon won with the Coup De Grace and a new Champion was crowned, but to make his title reign exciting he will need a strong opposition, therefore in this article I will be discussing his potential opponents, and when Finn Bálor may get the call to make his debut on the main roster.

The first opponent he should face is of course Kevin Owens, as it is usual for the ex-champion to have a rematch clause, therefore this match could either happen on an NXT episode or at the next NXT special in August. If this match does happen, it should end with Bálor winning clean again, thus meaning no outside interference or a disqualification, as WWE must build Bálor as a strong fighting champion.

Another opponent Bálor could face is Samoa Joe. Now this will need some time to build as both are faces, therefore one should turn heel for storyline purposes, so in my opinion Joe should turn heel. Let’s say on the next NXT episode, there is a title celebration, where all of the NXT roster come out to celebrate Bálor winning the Championship, however towards the end Samoa Joe attacks Finn and there you go, that is Joe’s heel turn. He could say he came to NXT to be the best and he will be the best, so he attacks Bálor, because Bálor is currently the best.

Hideo Itami says he will be fit in 3 months, so could the former tag partners, face 1 on 1 in a high flying risk taking title feud? How this could be booked is Bálor wins his feud against Samoa Joe and then Itami beats Joe in a number one contender match, Itami could then say that Bálor stole the chance of him facing Kevin Owens at the recent event at Tokyo, neither men turn heel, but Hideo is acting more like a heel with sneak attacks and he comes out on top in this feud in the NXT Takeover special that airs I presume in November/December time, but by losing the NXT Title it allows Bálor to join the main roster in time for Survivor Series

At Survivor Series, expect another Authority vs Anti – Authority elimination tag match, let’s say on The Authority side it’s Owens, Rusev, Triple H, Kane and Wyatt taking on Dolph, Cesaro, Ambrose, Rollins and a surprise pick, it looks as though it will be Roman Reigns but he has a match earlier in the night against Sheamus for the WWE title, Sheamus retains the title because the whole of The Authority’s come and attack Reigns and put him out.

Later in the night the 5 on 5 match starts, but the Anti – Authority team only have 4 members, as the match goes The Authority control all aspects of the fight, it comes down to Rollins and Ambrose vs Wyatt,Owens,Triple H and Rusev. Then Reigns music hits so everyone thinks Reigns is going to make the save, but it never happens, then the lights go out, is it The Undertaker, is it Sting, no it isn’t, it’s The Demon Finn Bálor, he runs down and three faces take down The Authority.

Finn Bálor’s first main roster feud will be against Bray Wyatt, The Demon vs The New Face Of Fear, it will be built on Bray wanting to unleash Bálor’s inner demon, they meet at TLC and Royal Rumble, and Bálor wins both, he enters the Royal Rumble but is eliminated by Sami Zayn.

This feud happens because Zayn could say that neither men have faced each other in the WWE, but Bálor did something that he couldn’t do and that was beat Kevin Owens. At Fastlane, Zayn and Bálor finish their match in double count out. So at Wrestlemania 32 they have a 30 minute Ironman match which is a draw, then they meet for a final time at Extreme Rules, in an Extreme Rules Ironman match which is an hour long. This time Bálor wins and at the end Zayn shakes Bálor’s hand.

Then at Money in the Bank Bálor wins the Money in the Bank match and at Survivor Series 2016 Bálor cashes in on whoever the champion is, as it would be a year since his debut on the main roster.

This is how I will book the next 18 months or so in the WWE career of Finn Bálor, how would everybody else?
