NXT Revisited 1st May

Apologies for last weeks hiatus, familial and other social obligations delayed my watching of NXT until Sunday evening. It wasn’t a particularly eventful episode anyway so there wouldn’t have been much to say regardless. This weeks show picked up a bit of momentum with the NXT Womens Championship tournament after last weeks decision by general manager JBL to strip Paige of the womens title. Still don’t quite understand the logic of that decision when they could just have Paige lose the title to an up and comer, but it is what it is. We also had a No DQ match for the NXT title between Neville and Brodus, so all in all, a pretty solid show.

Lets talk about it.

Bo Down To Bo Dallas

I am not a huge fan of Bo Dallas, but I have to admit, I can see his gimmick being successful on the main roster. Cocky heels can be effective, but delusional idiot heels are sometimes the best. But as much as I am not a fan of Bo, I am even less of a fan of Tyson Kidd. Yes, he has talent but he was already on the main roster and is now back in NXT so he is stealing spots from other guys looking to make a name for themselves. Plus, hes married to that human pile of garbage, Natalya (more on her later).

The match itself was ok, nothing to write home about. The wrong person won, but that was going to happen when it looks like Tyson Kidd is well on his way to stealing a title shot from guys like Sami Zayn and Tyler Breeze.

Bayley To Banksy

I like Bayley. She’s got a great attitude and a lot of ability. Sasha isn’t terrible either really. In fact, most of the women on the NXT roster have wrestling ability in spades. Actually, lets just replace the women on the main roster (except for Paige and Emma and AJ) and put them in NXT and move all the NXT ladies up to the main roster. Just an idea, a really really good idea.

The first round in the NXT womens championship tournament was a solid bout with Sasha Banks winning with a backstabber into an impressive submission maneuver. Both women really made an impression on me here. This is more of what we need, women who care about their wrestling ability being given time to show it.

The Rose Experience vs The Future Endeavored

ITs always funny to see things like this. Because of the taped nature of NXT episodes, things happen or people appear that made sense at the time but don’t now. This was a great example of that. Adam Rose was facing Danny Burch who as of 3 days ago was released from his developmental contract along with Mason Ryan, Oliver Grey (who also appeared on this episode) and a host of others. No surprises here really, he lost in under 3 minutes to Rose, who is making his Raw debut next week.

Camacho, party pooper that he is, attacked one of Roses’s entourage after the match furthering the feud that will go nowhere.

Natalya’s here, and I’m moving on!

My new thing in both Raw Revisited and NXT Revisited is to always skip a segment or match that is not worth talking about. This means anything Natalya is involved in, so lets move on shall we?

I Got Hyped Once, It Wasn’t Worth The Hype

Guys, I made a meme. That’s how much I don’t like Mojo Rawley. He’s a glorified football player who uses his ass for 75 percent of his offense. This match also featured another recently released prospect in Oliver Grey. Grey was once one half of the NXT tag team champions with the current NXT champion Adrian Neville before he got injured. He comes back and two weeks later, gets released. A sad story, but unfortunately, from what I have heard, it was justified since he wasn’t very good, and they have so much talent there at the moment.

The last thing Oliver Grey saw in NXT….

The day Mojo makes it to the main roster is the next time I will go to Meme Generator.

No DQ FTW

Would you look at that? They made this feud something entertaining all of a sudden. The best thing they could have done here was have a No DQ match for the title. It opens up a range of options for them, especially when the size discrepancies are taken into account. I do hope this is the end of the feud, but it was a good way to finish it, none the less.

There weren’t too many big spots in the match, and the finish was lame when stacked against previous matches of this ilk, but it was effective enough to give Neville a decisive clean victory over the “monster” that is Brodus Clay and allow him to move on to his next challenger.

That’s gonna do it for this weeks NXT Revisited. Be sure to share, like, retweet, blett, blort, porp and poop this all over the place because my ego is fed by all of that stuff and check out my usual Raw Revisited every wednesday at 6pm. And also, of course, be sure to check out all the other amazing articles by our highly talented team of writers. They make me ashamed of my work with how good they are.

Peace.
