By now you all know I am not one to hold back when I have a different view on something, and here I go again. My controversial view is Sasha Banks isn’t doing all that on the main roster.
Sasha came to the main roster with a reputation of being an excellent all round worker, a reputation which she rightly earned through hard work and some excellent matches with the likes of Bayley and her main roster adversary Charlotte.
However for me, this hasn’t transferred to the main roster. She seems to be lacking that special something on the main roster. I know i’m probably in the very small minority who believe’s this to be the case but something is amiss with Sasha on the main roster.
Many will no doubt put a lot of things down to her not getting a solid run together due to injuries, and whilst that may be the case in the long term, in the short term she just isn’t doing it. Her run towards her first title run came from absolutely nowhere as she did close to nothing in the period leading up to her getting a title shot, yet still gets given the rub.
Then injury strikes and she pretty much dropped the title at the first opportunity back to Charlotte at Summerslam. Then a little time passes and she rightly get’s back into things due to her rematch clause, no issue there, but again wins the title…..again with zero build, again with no substance behind the change…….
Now we head towards Hell In A Cell, and the women get to make history, the first time women are inside the demonic cell structure, and the first time women have main evented a main roster PPV event. The match itself was perfectly fine, however again Sasha drops the title in pretty quick fashion, sense a pattern here?
So what is it about Sasha and being on the main roster? Are those in power behind the scenes in the WWE seeing the same thing i’m seeing and don’t want to risk giving Sasha a massive push to stardom? Are they too worried about her ever growing list of injuries? Do they see more star power in Bayley and Charlotte and that is why they aren’t putting much behind Sasha?
Whatever the answer is, the Sasha from her late run in NXT where she was nothing short of superb, isn’t transferring to the main roster. If it doesn’t happen soon I can’t see how they’ll get behind her in the long term when Charlotte is so far ahead of her at the moment, and Bayley is pretty much on an even keel with her, Sasha could find herself left behind.

The Movember Foundation raises awareness and funds for men’s mental and physical health to help stop men dying too young from preventable causes such as male cancers and suicides.
