OSV Presents: 3 Men That……Part I

There’s three big men that I believe should have been more inside the WWE ring and it this article i’ll talk you through each one and say why they should have been more.

First up is Vader. I’m not talking about his more recent runs, i’m referring to his 1996 run when he was fodder for HBK at Summerslam. Vader was a guy that was a 3 time NJPW Heavyweight Champion, a 3 time WCW Heavyweight Champion, and was voted PWI wrestler of the year in 1993, yet amounted to very little in the WWE.

Despite his size, Vader could move in the ring, and his Vader Bomb and Vadersault were vicious due to his size, which should have put him in good stead for the WWE , however this wasn’t to be as he only really feuded with HBK and Undertaker. Yes the HBK feud was over the WWE Title but Vader was terribly underused.

The next one to look at is the Big Boss Man. Despite being with the company on and off for 10 years, Bossman wasn’t utilised as he should have been. Bossman was always a solid worker and did have to put up with some stinkers when it came to feuds and matches (Akeem & Nailz come to mind) but Bossman never got given a run with the singles championships.

Sure he had 4 Hardcore title reigns, but then back in the Attitude Era, there were countless Hardcore Champions so that’s nothing to shout about and he did manage 1 Tag Team Title reign with Ken Shamrock of all people. Like Vader, Bossman could have had so much more. His feud with Curt Hennig over the IC Title was excellent, and he even took the heel to a new level when he stole Big Show’s father’s casket during that feud, but still nothing more came of him, shame really.

Finally I want to talk about arguably the most agile big man in the history of the business and that is Bam Bam Bigelow. Bam Bam, flew off the top rope like a cruiserweight, he could cartwheel with the best of them and had a very unique look that one would expect Vince to love right?

Wrong. Despite being an ECW Champion and a multi-time WCW Tag Team Champion, the best Bam Bam got in the WWE, was an horrific main event at Wrestlemania XI with Lawrence Taylor. We all know that is probably the worst main event in Wrestlemania history and Bigelow didn’t really recover from that.

All three men should have been portrayed better in the WWE and they should have been guys that had those singles titles runs in the company, but for whatever reasons they didn’t. Can you guys thin of any other big men that were treated unfairly in the grand scheme of things?

Until next time.
