#RawReport – 1st October 2018 (@runner_rope)

Here are the main talking points from this week’s Raw which took us back to the late 90’s.

Brothers of destruction take out DX

Ahead of Saturday’s ‘Last time ever’ match between Triple H and The Undertaker, Shawn Michaels was praising his best friend when Kane appeared in the ring to attack the Heart break kid. The Deadman soon joined his brother to beat down Michaels. Triple H came to the ring to try and help his friend but stereo Chokeslams and a Tombstone to the CEO later and the DX pairing left laying where they stood. This was a fantastic nostalgia segment, and now I definitely want this rumoured tag match between The Brothers of Destruction and DX at WWE Crown Jewel on November 2nd in Saudi Arabia.

Is Dean Ambrose 100% Shield?

The Lunatic Fringe and the rest of The Shield had a very busy evening as they took on The dogs of war in individual singles matches. These matches saw Roman Reigns defeat Dolph Ziggler, Drew McIntyre beat Seth Rollins and Braun Strowman take the W against Ambrose via disqualification due to interference from Reigns. Throughout the night, Ambrose was making subtle digs at his Shield brothers, which could be hinting at a future heel turn from Ambrose. It could be a question of whether he turns on Reigns or Rollins.

Elias and Owens draw nuclear heat

Elias and Kevin Owens took to the ring to address their opponents at Super Show Down, John Cena and Bobby Lashley. During this segment, Elias made his usual jab at the crowd as he mentioned how Seattle’s Basketball team left for Oklahoma. This remark caused a chorus of boos from the fans which carried on for at least seven minutes, heat which hasn’t been seen/heard in WWE for a number of years. Elias is definitely one of the best heels  in the company, and all it takes is trashing the town you are in.

Rousey defeats Riott

Raw women’s champion Ronda Rousey took on Riott squad leader Ruby Riott in non-title singles action. After a competitive back-and-forth match, Rousey eventually picked up the win, making Riott tap out with her arm bar. Rousey picks up momentum for her team ahead of Saturday’s Super Show Down, and Riott proves how worthy she is of a future championship run.

Konnor makes it two wins in two

After picking up his first singles win on WWE TV in three years last week by beating Chad Gable, Konnor made it two wins in two weeks after he defeated Gable’s friend Bobby Roode. I mean it’s great to see The Ascension going over but I don’t see where this feud is going and in reality makes these wins redundant.
