Raw Report – 6th August 2018 (@runner_rope)

Here are the main talking points from last night’s Raw.

Rousey strikes fear into Bliss
Ronda Rousey competed on Raw for the first time last night when she battled Alicia Fox in the show’s main event. As many would’ve expected, Rousey ran through fox despite some outside interference from Alexa Bliss. Rousey made Fox tap out to the armbar while staring down Bliss in the process. Bliss tried to attack Rousey during her post-match interview, but Rousey was too smart for that. Rousey continues to kill it on Raw and is more than worthy to be in that ring. Rousey will face Bliss for the Raw women’s championship at Summerslam.

Heyman is lost without Lesnar
Paul Heyman was interviewed by Renee Young who wanted Heyman’s opinion on what happened between him and Lesnar. Heyman looked distraught as he lost a close friend in Lesnar and didn’t want to continue the interview as he feared Lesnar wouldn’t like what he had to say. Heyman finished the interview by saying that he has never seen Lesnar so violent and intimidated and that Roman Reigns doesn’t stand a chance at Summerslam. This was up there with the best promo performances of the year on WWE and a brilliant way to sell the main event of a Pay-per-view.

Balor and Corbin set for Summerslam
Raw’s Constable Baron Corbin was in action against The Big Dog Roman Reigns. Corbin tried to high-tale it during the match, but Finn Balor arrived on the scene to force Corbin back into the ring, who then ate a Spear and a loss. Later in the night, it was confirmed that Balor will face Corbin at Summerslam in the rubber match in this storyline. Hopefully, this match will be the end of the feud and both can move onto better things.

Returning with a Riott
Riott squad members Sarah Logan and Liv Morgan were squaring off against the newly formed team of Bayley and Sasha Banks when an assailant in a hoodie helped Morgan, they then unveiled themselves and it was none other than Ruby Riott who has been off TV for the past five weeks with a knee injury. This distraction allowed Logan to roll up Banks for the win. It is great to see Riott back in action as she is an underrated member of the Raw roster and is a future Raw women’s champion in my opinion.

Tag team trickery
Midway through a tag team match between The B team and The Revival, Bray Wyatt’s horror graphic appeared on the screen and once that had finished, Matt Hardy and Wyatt were standing on each corner where the non-legal man was for each team for the match. Hardy and Wyatt then attacked both teams which caused a double disqualification. A triple threat match between all three teams has been set next week.
