Here are the main talking points from this week’s Raw which was the last Raw before Survivor Series.
Lynch leads Smackdown Invasion
In the segment of the night, the feed suddenly cut to backstage where Becky Lynch was wrenching the arm of Ronda Rousey, Lynch then proceeded to the ring to confront The Raw Women’s Survivor Series team. This distraction allowed the rest of the Smackdown women to sneak up on them and launch an attack. The Raw women’s roster came to the aid of their team, but they were soon dispatched by the Smackdown crew. Within the melee, Lynch was caught in the face and was heavily bleeding. This however just made Lynch look more of a badass and the true warrior that she is. She’s the hottest thing in WWE right now.
Final men for Raw team determined
Finn Balor and Bobby Lashley were tonight confirmed as the final two members of the Raw Men’s Survivor Series team. Balor got the nod after impressing Stephanie McMahon when he beat Dolph Ziggler with a roll up, and Lashley was selected after beating Elias in a qualifying match via count out. Will these additions make Raw strong enough to beat Smackdown? We’ll find out Sunday.
Raw Women’s team unveiled
Raw Women’s team captain Alexa Bliss revealed the first four members of the team to be Natayla, Mickie James, Nia Jax and Tamina. Bliss also announced that the final member will be the winner of the match between best friends Bayley and Sasha. As ever, Banks and Bayley were having a stellar matchup, this was until James, Jax and Tamina attacked them both to deem the match a no contest. Bliss then revealed the final member of the five to be Ruby Riott. I don’t have a problem with this choice, but was it worth burying Banks and Bayley like that?
Raw tag team captains confirmed
The team of Bobby Roode and Chad Gable won a tag team over-the-top rope battle royal to become the captains of Raw for the 10-on-10 tag team Survivor Series match. Can imagine that most of the teams in the battle royal will make up the full 10.
Big opportunities ahead for Strowman
The monster among men Braun Strowman has been trying to get his hands on Acting Raw GM Baron Corbin ever since he cost him The Universal championship at Crown Jewel. Stephanie McMahon said that Strowman can have a match with Corbin and a Universal championship rematch if Strowman and team Raw win at Survivor Series. Can Strowman be a team player to get what he wants? We’ll get that answer on Sunday at the Staples Centre.
