#RawReport – 22nd October 2018 (@runner_rope)

Here are the main talking points from this week’s Raw which was probably the most emotional episode in Raw history.

Reigns faces Leukemia battle

To kick off the show, Roman Reigns came down to the ring to cut an out-of-character promo where he told the audience that the Leukemia that he was diagnosed with 11 years ago, has returned. Reigns proclaimed that he will be relinquishing the Universal championship and will return bigger and stronger than before after he recovers from his illness, then in the most heartbreaking moment of the night, Reigns was joined by his Shield brothers, Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose, who were visually upset when embracing their friend. I’m sure the whole wrestling community wishes Reigns all the best in his recovery, and are praying for him and his friends and family.

Ambrose turns on Rollins

In an emotional night for the duo, Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins defeated Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre to capture the Raw tag team championships. In what seemed to be a happy ending to Raw, Ambrose shockingly turned on Rollins by hitting him with a Dirty Deeds and a brutal assault, finishing with a Dirty Deeds on the concrete floor. Throughout the assault, the crowd were in stunned silence. If the night wasn’t emotional enough already, this pulled on the heartstrings even more, which will give Ambrose major heel heat.

Babyface Elias?

After beating Apollo Crews in singles action, Elias wanted to celebrate with a musical performance. Before he could begin, he was interrupted by acting Raw general manager Baron Corbin, who told Elias there was no time for his performance, and that he must leave the stage, or he will be fired. Elias originally complied, but then pummelled Corbin with his guitar when the GM’s back was turned. The WWE universe has been behind Elias for so long and a baby face turn will show us what Elias can do with his character. If booked right, Elias could be a main event baby face.

Balor upsets Lashley with roll up

In the opening match of the night, Finn Balor surprised Bobby Lashley with a roll up win. Lashley’s hype man Lio Rush tried his best to distract Balor but it was to no avail. The way how things went here, it appears that we won’t see the last of Balor v Lashley, as a feud is most likely brewing. If booked correctly, this rivalry could take Balor to the next level.

Moon wins before Evolution

Just six days before the WWE Evolution Pay-per-view, Ember Moon pinned Tamina to win a fatal-four-way match which also included Nia Jax and Dana Brooke. All these women will be included in the battle royal this sunday, where the winner will receive a future championship opportunity. Personally, I would like to see either Moon or Peyton Royce take the W as I them both as future champions.
