#RawReport – 5th November 2018 (@runner_rope)

Here are the main talking points from this past week’s Raw which hailed in Manchester, England as part of WWE’s European tour.

Drew dominant over Angle

In the night’s main event, Olympic gold medallist Kurt Angle squared off against the Scottish psychopath Drew McIntyre, for the chance to become Raw team captain at Survivor Series. Angle put in a valiant effort, but he was no match for the ruthless McIntyre, who added insult to injury by making Angle tap out with his patterned ankle lock. It seems that WWE are going full steam ahead for this McIntyre push, and it’s surely a matter of time before he is a world champion. It seems that nine years after the original gimmick, McIntyre is finally the chosen one.

New tag team champions crowned

The Authors of Pain won their first tag team championships on the main roster, after they convincingly defeated Seth Rollins in an unfair 2-one-1 handicap. Fellow former tag champ Dean ambrose was nowhere to be seen during the match, but appeared after the bout to give Rollins a Dirty Deeds. It’s good that the tag belts are no longer being held up in the Rollins v Ambrose feud, and it allows for Raw’s tag team division to now rebuild.

Controversial angle involving Natalya

In a rematch from WWE Evolution, the trio of Natalya, Sasha Banks and Bayley took on The Riott Squad in six-woman tag action. Towards the end of the match, Natalya had Sarah Logan locked in a Sharpshooter when Ruby Riott grabbed the sunglasses of Natalya’s late father Jim Neidhart, and snapped them in two. This brought Natalya to tears, whilst being comforted by Banks and Bayley. This left the fans in an awkward silence, and probably left a poor taste in their mouths.

Raw team captains announced

This past week’s Raw opened with the announcements of the team captains for Raw in men’s and women’s Survivor Series matches in two weeks . Baron Corbin and Alexa Bliss claimed their respective positions, most likely to the disapproval of the Raw roster. Corbin further announced his first three team members, these being Braun Strowman, Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre. A dogs of war reunion just weeks after splitting up.

Jax sides with family

Nia Jax beat the Shenom Ember Moon in a close encounter. After the match however, Tamina stormed to the ring and looked to be going for Jax, but she then joined for Samoan cousin in beating down Moon. Jax and Tamina could dominate the Raw women’s division in Jax’s pursuit of the Raw women’s champion, but champion Ronda Rousey will be no pushover.
