The Voice of Reason: Royal Rumble 2016 – Realistic Returns

Howdy people. Firstly a Happy New Year to everyone, hope everyone had a memorable night and are not struggling too much today.

With the new year upon us, it means that WrestleMania is round the corner, and that means one thing, the Royal Rumble is upon us! So here are 5 potentially realistic returning superstars who could feature in the Royal Rumble match of 2016!

Daniel Bryan
I start with the superstar that I feel we as the “WWE Universe” want back more than any other, and that is Daniel Bryan. Bryan has suffered from injuries in the last couple of years, and because of that, WWE are taking extra care before bringing him back, something that I agree with. Ultimately, the wrestlers health is most important and he cannot be brought back too soon.

That being said, Bryan has been out for a long time and had apparently been cleared by a couple of doctors to compete. Perhaps the Royal Rumble is the perfect platform for him to return. The only reason I believe this is not the right idea is Bryan will most likely not be the winner and WWE won’t want a repeat of last years Rumble.

The Undertaker
Another realistic and excitable return in The Phenom, in what could be his last run before his inevitable retirement. With rumours floating that this could be Taker’s last ever WrestleMania and by extension his in ring performance, WWE need to maximise the time he has left.

For me, that means a surprise entrance in the Royal Rumble where he either wins the Rumble, or costs his eventual WrestleMania opponent the chance to headline wrestlings biggest event of the year. In my opinion, The Undertaker is one of the, if not the greatest of all time, and deserves a proper and meaningful send off. The Rumble is the best opportunity to get the time and emphasis on his last run, that he truly does deserve.

Brock Lesnar
Ladies and gentleman, I give to you my favourite potential return of the Royal Rumble in 2016, the beast incarnate, Brock Lesnar. Following the absolute destructive mission Brock has been on as of late, the pure carnage that could be witnessed at the Royal Rumble is mouthwatering.

Imagine there are 15-20 superstars in the ring during the Rumble, and in comes Brock Lesnar, the man who could eliminate every single one of them without blinking an eye and strolling to the headline match of WrestleMania. While WWE may decide to advertise for Brock, I firmly think that the better television in this instance is based on surprise.

The Rock
Probably the least realistic out of the choices for realistic Rumble returns. The Rock has been back on and off in recent times since he has reached superstardom, and recently announced that he will be appearing at this years WrestleMania.

Now I don’t think The Rock will be in the headline match this year, but an appearance in the Rumble will start to bring the crowds. WWE are going for the attendance record this year and they need everything in full force. The Rock as an entrant will bring just that.

Well that’s it from me folks. Happy holidays and wishing for a great Royal Rumble ahead.
