The Voice of Reason: TLC Preview

December is always a festive month, and is the time of year where WWE get partially extreme a the TLC pay-per view. It also means we are insanely close to the Royal Rumble and the start of WrestleMania. But for now, let’s focus on the final PPV of 2015, and what it might hold in store.

Instead of a match by match preview, I thought I would share three things I hope happens at TLC, that could set up the road to WrestleMania

Roman Reigns Turns Heel
This has been a long time coming and so very long overdue. To the point where I am sick of hearing and writing about it. Reigns is not over with all of the crowd. To WWE that might be fine as they want to create a new John Cena, but that’s not ideal. People are rejecting Roman Reigns as they think he is a new Cena and the only way to show that he’s not, is by turning him heel. A long successful run as a heel is a more long term solution, because when he inevitably turns back to a baby face, there will be no one against him.

He is a badass who might be more similar to Brock Lesnar than John Cena. If Lesnar has such a big appeal, you should aim to create a superstar like that. I guess it does boil down to the WrestleMania main event. If Reigns is meant to hold the title into WrestleMania, he should definitely be a heel against a strong babyface Royal Rumble victor. If he is supposed to win the championship at wrestlings biggest event, he should definitely be heel against a strong babyface champion.

The Wyatt Family Destroy Everybody
When The Wyatt Family came out on Raw to interrupt the League of Nations, that was best for business. The Wyatt’s need a win, there’s no two ways about it. Suffering defeats all the time and then having Bray Wyatt talk his way out of it is not a solution. People need to buy into the Wyatt’s as they might just end up being like the Undertaker and Kane in 25 years time.

However, I am not hoping for just a mere victory against Team Extreme. I am hoping for The Wyatt Family to absolutely destroy everyone on the card, starting with their own match. A clean sweep of Team Extreme in a tables match would certainly stamp their name. This should basically resemble what Brock Lesnar did to John Cena last year.

They should then move on to costing Del Rio his match against Jack Swagger and Rusev his match against Ryback. Then just for good measure, cost the New Day the tag titles in their match. A systematic overhaul an destruction of the card is what I want the Wyatt’s to achieve. They deserve nothing less.

Ambrose Wins The IC Title
Last week I spoke briefly about how Ambrose needs to get his due, and this may be the perfect opportunity for that. I have high hopes for his match with Owens, although I feel that because of how good they are on the microphone, we have lacked those promos that could have made this feud that much more meaningful and special.

Kevin Owens has been fantastic and will continue to be, and a loss to Ambrose does not diminish that. If anything, it escalates this feud, continues it and makes it more memorable. I guess this largely depends on Ambrose’s plans for WrestleMania. But I am all for an Ambrose win, with Owens maintaining his heel heat and continuing what could be an epic encounter.

What do you think? Hope everyone has a great TLC weekend and don’t forget to join the SLYD Fantasy League.
