#TheRawReport – 27th August 2018 (@runner_rope)

Here are the main talking points from this week’s Raw which saw a huge match set for Hell in a Cell.

Strowman Outsmarts The Shield

The night started with Braun Strowman announcing that he will cash in his Money in the bank contract in three weeks at the Hell in a Cell Pay-per-view and will, therefore, face the Universal champion Roman Reigns inside the cell on September 16th.

The night’s main event saw Strowman and Reigns team up against Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre. During the bout, Strowman tagged himself in but didn’t enter the ring, this allowed Ziggler and McIntyre to continue their attack on Reigns, which Strowman eventually joined in with. Reigns’ Shield Brothers Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins came to the aid of The Big Dog, but it was to no avail as Strowman, Ziggler and McIntyre stood tall when Raw went off the air. This definitely hinted to a Strowman heel turn which WWE fans probably didn’t want to see, myself included as I would much rather see a heel Shield faction instead of a heel Strowman.

Owens has had Enough

The Prizefighter Kevin Owens returned to Raw for the first time since Summerslam to answer Seth Rollins’ Intercontinental championship open challenge. As always, Rollins and Owens put on an absolute clinic with some fantastic back-and-fourth action.

Rollins finally picked up the win over Owens with his Stomp. However, it was the post-match angle that took many by surprise. Once Raw returned from a commercial break, Owens was sat in the ring looking deflated, he took to the microphone and uttered “I quit” before leaving the ring. What I’m hoping is that this leads to an alignment wit Paul Heyman, as this pairing could see Owens go to the top of WWE where I believe he belongs.

Trish Returns in Toronto

Whilst Elias was doing his usual thing of trashing the town he was in, WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus returned to WWE to her hometown of Toronto, Canada. Stratus and Elias then had a fantastic back-and-forth promo which I must admit was my favourite segment on the show.

After an insult too many from Elias, Stratus retaliated with a slap to the face of The Drifter. Stratus will face Alexa Bliss on October 6th at WWE’s all women’s pay-per-view Evolution, and I’m sure the WWE Universe can’t wait to see her back in action.

Bellas to brawl Next Week

While celebrating Natalya’s win against Alicia Fox, Nikki and Brie Bella revealed to Natalya, Stratus and Ronda Rousey that they will be returning to the ring on Raw next week, probably to face The Riott Squad. This is probably so Brie can get in ring-shape for her mixed-tag match at Hell in a cell where her and husband Daniel will take on The Miz and Maryse in three weeks.

Tag Team Streak Dies

Raw tag team champions The B team lost their first match since the Superstar shake-up back in April after losing to The Revival in a non-title match. Unfortunately, this feud is continuing. It needs to end soon and it needs to end with The Revival as the tag team champions so they can revive the Raw tag division as their name suggests.

What were your thoughts on Raw this week?
Do you want a heel Strowman? Did you mark out for Trish’s return? Do you want the Tag Division ‘Revived’?
