#TheWrestlingBrain: Money in the Bank Predictions #MITB (@callumowen98)

Hello everyone, it’s me TWB here for some Money In The Bank predictions, before we kick off with my thoughts on Sunday night’s PPV, I hope everyone is doing well throughout the troubling times, and everyone is staying safe and healthy.

Like all of my PPV predictions articles, I’ll give you my quick picks for the undercard matches, then go more in-depth on the main event bouts.

Bayley Vs Tamina – Smackdown Women’s Championship:
Winner: (Still Champion) Bayley

New Day Vs Miz and Morrison Vs Lucha House Party Vs Forgotten Sons – Smackdown Tag Team Championship:
Winner: (Still Champions) New Day

Braun Strowman vs Bray Wyatt – Universal Championship

I’m not on board with Braun Strowman as Universal Champion, I know that it was pretty much a last-minute decision because of Roman Reigns pulling out of Wrestlemania, but really for the better part of two years, Strowman’s momentum had cooled off, and he wasn’t even originally going to be on the Mania card.

Bray Wyatt/The Fiend, should never have lost the Universal Title in the first place to Goldberg at Supershow Down, however, he regained his credibility defeating John Cena at Wrestlemania in the Firefly Funhouse Match.

On Sunday night, it will be the ‘Mr Rogers’ Bray Wyatt going up against Braun, so I wouldn’t be shocked if he takes a loss, then post-match somehow The Fiend shows up and takes out Strowman setting up another match between the two at the next PPV.
Winner: (Still Champion) Braun Strowman

Drew McIntyre Vs Seth Rollins – WWE Championship

Drew McIntyre as WWE Champion still feels somewhat surreal, but compared to Braun as champion on the Smackdown side, I am really enjoying the Drew reign so far.

Seth Rollins as a heel or face is still one of my favourite wrestlers, he has been ever since he made his debut almost 8 years ago, but there’s no chance of Rollins becoming WWE Champion on Sunday night.

Drew is only a few weeks into his run, and he deserves to still be champion when crowds can come back, and then keep the title perhaps even all the way up to next year’s Wrestlemania. This will be a great match for certain, but the result seems very predictable, Drew will retain.
Winner: (Still Champion) Drew McIntyre

Carmella Vs Dana Brooke Vs Nia Jax Vs Asuka Vs Shayna Baszler Vs Lacey Evans – Women’s Money In The Bank

Looking at these 6 competitors, to me there can only be two realistic winners, Asuka and Shayna Baszler.

Asuka has been the standout star for the last few months since WWE moved to the Performance Centre, and a run with the briefcase could be really entertaining, and who knows maybe she can move over to Smackdown and cash in on Sasha Banks at some point, as an Asuka Vs Banks feud would be really good.

The other woman who could win on Sunday night is Shayna Baszler, she lost her match against Becky Lynch at Wrestlemania, in surprising fashion (although I predicted correctly that Lynch would retain). Baszler needs to get back some momentum, and it’ll also be exciting to see Baszler carry round the briefcase with the knowledge, that at anytime she could lock in the Kirifuja Clutch and become the new Women’s Champion.

The other 4 women in the match are Carmella, Dana Brooke, Lacey Evans and Nia Jax I can’t see winning especially the 3 competitors from Smackdown because everything on the Women’s side on the blue brand is pointing to a Sasha Vs Bayley title feud. Nia has a chance, and her cashing in on Becky would be intriguing, but a Nia Vs Becky feud really should’ve happened 18 months ago, when Nia had some heat for breaking Becky’s nose, I just can’t see there being much excitement in seeing those two feuds now.

Personally, I think Asuka will grab the briefcase on Sunday night, she’s been a real highlight over the past few months holding the contract, and especially if shows remain at the Performance Centre there’ll be no one better than Asuka.
Women’s Money In The Bank Winner: Asuka

AJ Styles Vs Aleister Black Vs Daniel Bryan Vs Otis Vs King Corbin Vs Rey Mysterio – Men’s Money In The Bank

Much like the Women’s Money In The Bank match, there are only two men, that I can feasibly see becoming Mr Money In The Bank on Sunday night, and I’ll whittle down until I get to those two.

Rey Mysterio as Money In The Bank holder would be fun and completely different, and at the back end of his career, a final world title run would be deserving and very fitting. However I cannot see it happening, it just seems very difficult to picture Mysterio climbing the ladder and grabbing the briefcase.

King Corbin should come nowhere near to the Money In The Bank contract, for the past year, I feel he’s just been shoved down our throats, and him being heavily featured on Smackdown for the past 6 months has run its course, I think as a cool way to write him off TV for a while, he should be the one knocked off the WWE HQ roof, it would be an entertaining spot and a way to end the King character, and bring him back in a few months time.

Otis as Mr Money In The Bank would be something completely different to what we’re usually used to, and it’ll be really entertaining for him to carry around the briefcase, but his loveable character just doesn’t fit the World Title picture. Have him be the Intercontinental Champion first and then depending on how well he does, you could push him towards the Universal Title.

If Daniel Bryan became a two time Money In The Bank winner on Sunday night, I really wouldn’t complain, he’s one of the best wrestlers in the world and whether it be as a heel or face he remains over. However Bryan’s wife Brie is pregnant and will give birth in a few months time, and Bryan has said he will take some time off, therefore I can’t see him winning.

Aleister Black is the first competitor that I think has a realistic chance to win on Sunday night, he’s been built up really well on the main roster for practically a year now. And the Money In The Bank briefcase suits someone who is a future star and because of having the contract, they can be propelled to the next level. However I’m not sure whether Black even needs to have that contract to get to the next level, he’s undefeated in over a year on the main roster, and sooner or later, he should be in the WWE Championship picture with or without the Money In The Bank briefcase.

My pick for the Men’s Money In The Bank Match is AJ Styles, he was brought back to Raw on Monday night, winning the gauntlet match and taking the spot that was originally held by Apollo Crews. My reasoning behind Styles winning on Sunday night is because Drew McIntyre will need some new heel challengers to face-off with and Styles behind Rollins is the next main heel on the Raw brand, and a Drew Vs Styles feud feels fresh and very different.
Men’s Money In The Bank winner: AJ Styles
