#TheWrestlingBrain’s: #WorldsCollide Predictions (@CallumOwen98) #SLTDRumbleWeek

Hello, it’s me TWB, and I’m here with my predictions for Saturday Night’s Worlds Collide PPV. The five matches announced for the show are all must-see, and really for me, there are two dream matches that we’ll be getting, and I’m going to talk about the first as Moustache Mountain from NXT UK take on DIY (Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa)

Moustache Mountain (Tyler Bate and Trent Severn Vs DIY (Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa)

This tag match will steal the show and potentially the whole wrestling weekend. Moustache Mountain and DIY are arguably two of the best Tag Teams NXT and NXT UK have seen, and seeing them clash in practically a match that has no stakes but just bragging rights to it, makes this bout feel really cool. Ciampa and Gargano reunited on the 15th January episode of NXT, and for “old times sake” accepted Bate and Severn’s challenge.

Moustache Mountain have been one of the best Tag Teams in Britain in the last few years, and there stock is consistently growing, the 22 Year old Bate is certainly one to keep you eyes on in the next decade, him and his mentor Severn are former NXT Tag Team Champions, and will no doubt want to defeat DIY to get a win for the NXT UK roster.

DIY are my favourite NXT Tag Team ever, their rivalry against The Revival in 2016 features the best Tag Matches I’ve ever seen. Both Ciampa and Gargano will have big nights ahead of them at NXT Takeover Portland, with Ciampa assumingly taking on NXT champion Adam Cole, and Gargano facing Finn Balor, therefore I would expect DIY picking up the victory in this one as neither man should be booked to lose before those matches.
Winners – DIY (Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa)

Finn Balor Vs Ijla Dragonov

Much like the above match, this one will be great, former WWE Universal Champion Finn Balor returned to NXT 3 months ago and has since been on a solid heel run, defeating Matt Riddle and entering himself in a feud with Johnny Gargano.

I’d heard of Ijla Dragonov before he joined NXT UK but had never seen him wrestle until his match at NXT Takeover Cardiff in his loss to Cesaro in an instant classic, he’s certainly someone who I could see challenge and perhaps end WALTER’s reign as NXT UK Champion in the near future.

However Finn needs to keep the momentum going and continue to remain a strong and hateable heel, a win for Balor here works, but I’d expect Dragonov to have a great performance and bring new eyes to him and the NXT UK brand.
Winner – Finn Balor

Angel Garza Vs Isaiah ‘Swerve’ Scott Vs Jordan Devlin Vs Travis Banks – NXT Cruiserweight Championship

This Fatal 4 Way match will be fast, frenetic and entertaining from get go, you have the NXT Cruiserweight Champion Angel Garza defending his belt against Isaiah ‘Swerve’ Scott FKA Shane Strickland, and NXT UK wrestlers Travis Banks and Jordan Devlin. Garza won the title from Lio Rush, a few weeks ago on NXT and I’d be surprised if his reign ended before it really started.

However the possibility of the Cruiserweight Championship moving to NXT UK would be enticing, besides the NXT UK Championship held by WALTER there’s no other male singles championship on that brand, so if by chance either Devlin or Banks win the strap on Saturday night, I wonder what the prospect would be of having Cruiserweights appear on NXT, NXT UK and 205 Live.

Isaiah ‘Swerve’ Scott is the wildcard in this match after defeating former champion Lio Rush and Tyler Breeze in a triple threat on the January 15th episode to earn his spot in this Fatal 4 Way, and a run with the Cruiserweight Title will definitely establish him as a star on both NXT and 205 Live.

But I think Garza will win this one, he’s only held the title for a few weeks, and it definitely feels that his feud with Lio Rush is far from over, and really what the Cruiserweight division needs is a strong champion who is over with the Full Sail Crowd and the audience watching around the world.
Winner (and still champion) – Angel Garza

Rhea Ripley Vs Toni Storm – NXT Women’s Championship Match

In a clash between 2 former NXT UK Women’s Champions, Rhea Ripley defends her NXT Women’s Title against Toni Storm.

The “Nightmare” Ripley ended the 400 days + reign of Shayna Baszler, on the December 19th episode of NXT to be crowned as the new women’s champion and I would be gob-smacked if she’d drop the belt so soon afterwards.

Toni Storm has had Ripley’s number on previous occasions, after becoming the NXT UK Women’s Champion last year in Blackpool defeating Rhea, and the question is can Toni do it again?

The answer for me is no, Rhea Ripley is the future of the Women’s Division, over the past few months she has pinned Charlotte, Sasha Banks, Shayna Baszler and stood toe to toe with Becky Lynch, there’s no chance that’ll she lose to Toni Storm this time round.
Winner (and still champion) – Rhea Ripley

Undisputed Era Vs Imperium

This is it folks, your main event of Worlds Collide, the Undisputed Era of NXT against Imperium of NXT UK, the two biggest stables in arguably the whole of WWE right now, are going to clash inside the centre of the ring.

Undisputed Era showing up to wipe out Imperium at the end of NXT Takeover Blackpool was huge, the reaction Cole, Fish, O’Reilly and Strong all received was off the charts, and despite them being heels they’re still popular with the core NXT fanbase.

Imperium have dominated the NXT UK brand for the last year, WALTER won the NXT UK Championship 10 months ago, and since then has defeated the likes of Pete Dunne, Tyler Bate and Joe Coffey.

This match is certainly the most difficult to call, as on one hand you have Undisputed Era who have been booked to perfection really ever since their debut, and then you have Imperium who are a solid faction and if they win on Saturday night then that’ll make them the top faction out of both brands.

Therefore I’m going to say Imperium win, with WALTER pinning Bobby Fish, this wouldn’t affect Adam Cole as he wouldn’t take the pinfall, and as of writing (21st January) Roderick Strong is still the North American Champion and he needs to remain strong no pun intended, so he wouldn’t take the fall either.
Winners – Imperium
