#TyboTalks: AEW Dynamite Premier Predictions (@TyboTalks)

Tonight is the night! Tonight the wrestling world could be turned upside down for the first in over 20 years when WWE gets its first major competition since WCW all those years ago.

AEW Dynamite premiers on TNT, and goes head to head with arguably the best ‘wrestling’ show under the WWE umbrella, NXT.

AEW will want to be the must watch show on a Wednesday night so I have wrote my predictions for the premier show.

‘Hangman’ Adam Page vs ‘The Bastard’ Pac

It’s safe to say this match has been a long time coming, which is
strange considering this is the first AEW weekly show. These two have
gone back and forward for months and it’s finally happening tonight. I
think this with be a long-running feud between the two, that will go
on well after Full Gear. It’s clear these two are heading into the AEW
Championship picture, and as we all know that wins and losses matter
in AEW so this match is important for more than just momentum.

You could easily make a case for each man winning the match, The
Hangman looking for redemption from his loss to (now World Champion)
Chris Jericho. The Bastard looking to keep the momentum up from his
stoppage win over Kenny Omega, it’s all to play for in this one.

I think when the night is over, it will be ‘Hangman’ Page with the win
over Pac. I think the show Jericho and Page put on at ‘All-Out’ could
be a great thing to do again but this time with more backstory and
build. I don’t think its too much of a stretch to say we could see
‘Hangman’ walk out the AEW World Champion at Full Gear.

Riho vs Nyla Rose (Women’s Championship)

I’ll be completely honest, I haven’t seen a lot from either of these
women (outside of the previous AEW shows, but it’s easy to see why
these two were chosen to be in the match to crown the first-ever AEW
Women’s Champion.

I will address the elephant in the room straight away, AEW has been
really high on inclusion and acceptance, and why shouldn’t they be
it’s 2019. That being said it’s easy to think Nyla Rose was chosen to
be in this match because she is trans. Let’s be honest, it’s a way to
get headlines. That being said, I wasn’t aware of Rose’s work before
AEW and I didn’t even know she was trans till I watched some old ‘Road
to’ episodes (she explains her story, in a really heartfelt and real
way). Rose is solid in the ring, and I can honestly say in the short
time I have seen her wrestle she has done nothing but impress me.

Riho is still somewhat of a mystery to me, her speed and style in the
ring reminds me of Kari Sane, which is never a bad thing. I really
like that AEW are showcasing wrestling from all over the world, I just
hope they get time to develop a solid gimmick too.

As for the match, this one will be pure speed vs power, and as fast as
Riho might be, Rose is no slouch. I think Rose will take this one, in
what I’m expecting to be a great back and forward.

The Elite (Young Bucks & Kenny Omega) vs Chris Jericho and Mystery Partners

It was announced earlier that Jericho’s partners will be the former
LAX team of Santana and Ortiz, If you have never seen these guys work
you have been missing out. I recently said you could put any team in
the world against Santana and Ortiz and I would still back them. AEW
fans are in for a treat.

The Elite are a well-oiled team that have tagged together on and off
for years, so you would expect them to go over the makeshift team.
That being said, LAX are new and I would think they want to get them
both over, so they will be pulling out all the stops. Add to that they
are team ign with the AEW World Champion and this one becomes a hard
one to call.

With the Young Bucks and Kenny Omega coming off losses at ‘All-Out’ I
would have to say this one is going to end in chaos. We could easily
see, Page attack Jericho, Moxley attack Omega, Lucha Bros attack
Santana and Ortiz or Young Bucks, or even a surprise new member of the
AEW roster. Either way, I don’t see this one finishing with a pinfall.

Surprises

There is no doubt AEW will want to be the talk of Wednesday Night’s
and that starts with some shocking appearances that wrestling fans will
not be expecting.

CM Punk – Although this is not impossible, I think it’s very (very)
unlikely. Although all the internet chatted could all be a swerve and
Punk is already signed?

Jack Swagger – I only mention Swagger because he has been mentioned
more than once this week to be ‘AEW bound’. Honestly, I think he could
be great for the company, he is a big, intense dude who could carry
any title you give him.

The Hart Dynasty – We have already seen Brian Pillman Jr, compete in a
‘Buy-In’ Battle Royal, could this mean DH Smith and Teddy Hart could
jump to AEW from MLW? I think this could be a great catch for AEW, and
really help build the idea of ‘stables’ on the show.

The Best of the Rest – (basically throwing out some names that could
be interesting and wouldn’t be impossible) Ryback, Wade Barrett, Chris
Saben & Alex Shelly, Allysin Key (FKA Sienna. Impact), Marty Scrull.
