#TeamSLTD: Men’s Money in the Bank Predictions

Once again Team SLTD have gotten together to give our thoughts on who we think will come out victorious at Money in the Bank and win the contract. Will it be Braun Strowman, Kevin Owens, Bobby Roode, Finn Balor, Rusev, Samoa Joe, The Miz or a member of New Day?

We all give our thoughts below, let us know in the comments below who you think will win!

There are a few guys I’d love to see win this match; Balor, Joe, even Bobby Roode. Despite the rumblings of another Miz/MITB win, I think Kevin Owens will be the one taking the briefcase home on the night. I also think/hope that Owens becomes the first holder since Seth Rollins to have a lengthy period with the case, using it as Seth did, to propel himself up the card slowly, but surely.

Now unlike the Women’s Women In The Bank Ladder match, I am REALLY excited and seriously looking forward to this match and honestly, ANY of them could win it.

Who do I want to win? I can’t break it down to just 1 participant, but I’m a HUGE Braun Strowman fan, even I agree he doesn’t need the briefcase. However, if that’s a way to get him the Universal Championship that he rightfully deserves then so be it. Rusev is another on my list. WWE hasn’t been capitalising on his reactions from the WWE Universe recently, but he has picked up some big-time victories recently. Is that because they want some momentum behind him to win the briefcase? My last superstar is Kevin Owens. Very underrated talent, and his selling and character work… He has the “IT” Factor and after him not getting his rematch from his last Universal Championship run, I wouldn’t complain.

Who do I think will win? Kevin Owens. I know Triple H especially, is very “high” on his work, and I’m a big fan too. It’s also a fresh face winning Money In The Bank and honestly someone who deserves it. It’s been hard to pick just one superstar so it’s going to be interesting to see who they pull the trigger on this year.

There are so many good people in this match that I am really torn on who can win the contract! Now thinking logically about this someone from RAW is not winning this match. Why would they give someone a contract that lets them pick their perfect opportunity to have a championship match to give that someone who’s on a brand when the champion is there about 4 times a year! So that narrows it to 4! Now if Lana won the women’s MitB ladder match I would say Rusev has to win as Mr and Mrs MitB would be amazing!! However, I can’t see that happening so that only really leaves one person I can see winning and that has to be Samoa Joe! Joe is fantastic in the ring and on the mic and deserves to have a championship opportunity! I think having the contract with his attitude (and his swag! I bloody love that swag!) he will be an amazing Mr MitB!

Let’s run down all the participants in the least favourite to most favourite for winning the contract. Bobby Roode is boring as a babyface, the gimmick as a suit-wearing egotistical heel worked perfectly in NXT but doesn’t on the main roster. The monster among men character that Strowman portrays just wouldn’t fit the right mould of a Money In The Bank winner. Finn the grin Balor, is the high flyer in the match and I would be happy with him winning, but I don’t think WWE has the confidence in him especially if they didn’t give him his automatic rematch clause match. I feel that the Rusev Day wagon might be coming to a halt as he doesn’t seem to have that momentum that he had a few months ago and I just can’t see him win the briefcase. For New Day I’m guessing it’ll be Big E that will be representing them, but I think he’ll be cost the briefcase accidentally by a fellow New Day member who will stop someone winning at some point but also take out their teammate.

Whatever happens in this match I expect Joe will be wrestling for the WWE Title at Summerslam so he could possibly win the briefcase and announce he’s cashing his contract in beforehand but I think he will be in the title picture on his own accord. Owens had a fairly short Universal Title reign in 2016-2017, but with his opportunistic nature, and his promo work he would fit the role needed for a perfect MITB winner. In my opinion, The Miz personifies what the Money In The Bank match is all about. A cowardly, dastardly, knifing and opportunistic heel snatching the briefcase and then cashing in on a underdog babyface. How amazing would it be for Miz to win, then at Royal Rumble, it’s Daniel Bryan vs Samoa Joe for the title. Bryan finally gets the title he never lost back and then you hear The Miz’s music hit and down he comes to cash in on a jubilant but defenceless Bryan!

@runner_rope (The Rope Runner)
This match is filled with an all-star cast, eight superstars who look to have bright futures in the WWE. So much so that you could make a realistic case for any of the eight superstars to win the match. Nonetheless, the man I want to see unhook that briefcase this Sunday is The Miz. He has been on such a roll in the last two years and what would cap it off is him becoming WWE Champion once again.

@Tybo_SLTD (Tybo Talks)
I think this could be one of the most star-studded Money in the Bank matches there has been for a while, and honestly I think anyone could take the case. I think the most interesting thing that could happen is one of New Day winning the match. The change in team dynamic would be great, and any one of them could be a believable world champion.

I think it’s clear (or I would hope) that someone from Smackdown is going to win the match, because when the hell will anyone be able to cash-in on Lesnar’s Universal Championship?!

I’m going to make a less than bold predictions, and go with the most deserving man in the match, The Miz!

@maruwe22 (What Would Matt Do?)
It would be simply glorious for Roode to take the briefcase on Sunday. I think that he needs the win the most out of anyone in the match. At the moment, he’s getting stale which doesn’t help him. A heel turn with the briefcase would work for me. As I’ve mentioned before, the heel with the briefcase gets the plaudits. Roode is no different in that respect. It would give him a chance to shake up his character a little, whilst keeping the amazing entrance theme. One thing that is guaranteed is that the match will be a spot fest. There will be some crazy action. People will fly, people will fall, a ladder will break. The winner though will be Roode and it will indeed be GLORIOUS
