The #RAW Report – June 25th (@runner_rope)

Welcome to a brand new feature on SLTD Wrestling which will look at some talking points from each week’s episode of Monday Night Raw.

Will Brock Lesnar ever return to defend his Universal Championship?

Another week goes by on Raw without the Universal Champion Brock Lesnar showing his face. It was announced last week, however, that Lesnar would defend his title against the winner of a multi-man match which was scheduled for Extreme Rules. But, Raw GM proclaimed this week that due to contractual issues, the multi-man match at Extreme Rules has been called off. This keeps adding more fuel to the fire of rumours that Lesnar will be leaving for the UFC in the future. At this stage, I feel that Lesnar is bigger than the Universal Championship, and beating Lesnar would be a bigger achievement than winning the belt. I have no doubt that Lesnar will defend his belt at Summerslam, but how his opponent is determined remains to be seen. I hope that Seth Rollins challenges The Beast in August, he thoroughly deserves it in my eyes.

Seth Rollins v Drew McIntyre soon?

Rollins lost his Intercontinental Championship last week to Dolph Ziggler. This week, Rollins got his rematch against Ziggler for the belt, which concluded with Ziggler retaining his gold after he was disqualified due to interference from friend Drew McIntyre. Rollins referenced McIntyre as a ‘big problem’ in a backstage interview and feels that McIntyre needs to be dealt with before he can win back the IC title. This match could happen on Raw before Extreme Rules or at the PPV itself. Either way, this match is definitely one I’d like to see.

The B Team still undefeated

The B Team’s Curtis Axel beat ‘Woken’ Matt Hardy in singles action this week, which means The B Team remain undefeated since forming their team. They will get an opportunity at the Raw tag team titles when they face Hardy and partner Bray Wyatt at Extreme Rules. The B Team are a fresh delight into the tag team division and would love to see them become the champs in under a month’s time, as I feel ‘The Deleters of Worlds’ are becoming stale as the title holders. I also want to see teams like The Authors of Pain and The Revival return to the tag team title picture as they are the future of tag team wrestling in WWE.

The Revival shock Roman Reigns and Bobby Lashley

In a rematch from last week, The Revival took on Reigns and Lashley in tag team action. However, is was The Revival who took the W after Dash Wilder rolled up Reigns for the 1 2 3. The story of the match evolved around Lashley and Reigns not seeing eye-to-eye, and The Revival took advantage of this. Hopefully, this can propel The Revival into the Raw tag team title picture, and it also looks to be setting up a feud between Reigns and Lashley, culminating in a match at either Extreme Rules or Summerslam. whenever it happens, it’s sure to be a hard-hitting blockbuster.

WWE all in for Bayley v Sasha Banks

What seems to be months of will-they-won’t-they, the friendship of Bayley and Banks has finally imploded and a blood feud between the two seems to be on the cards. This is a rivalry that fans, including myself, have been calling for, for months and months, and now we are finally getting it. It came to light when Bayley brutally attacked Banks after their tag defeat to the Riott Squad. Despite playing a heel in this situation, Bayley was being heavily cheered by the crowd so hopefully Bayley will be the babyface in this feud and Banks plays the heel, it will be a nice throwback to their NXT feud in 2015.
