#TyboTalks… Predictions: Slammiversary 2018 (@Tybo_SLTD)

Welcome once again to Tybo’s Talks! I am Tybo, and I’m sure by now you know that I am the ‘Five Star General’ of this operation we call SLTD Wrestling.

Impact Wrestling is on fire right now, and with their, annual Slammiversary PPV selling out I thought it was time to bring out the classic ‘Tybo Talks… Predictions. This will be a positive take on the card, as I honestly don’t think there is a bad match on the PPV.

(Cheap Plug: make sure you check out my ‘Tybo Talks… Give Impact a Chance’ this is the perfect write-up for anyone you know who has soured to the Impact Product, and you think should start watching again.)

Johnny Impact vs. Ishimori vs. Fenix vs. Rich Swann
This would be a great opening match to set the pace for the whole event. With the high-flying nature of every wrestler involved say this one will be none stop action. Swan has been a welcome addition to the Impact roster and it will be interesting to see him mix it up with some new guys on the scene.

Outside of everything else I’m excited to see the return of Johnny Impact (still a horrible name) but Johnny is without a doubt a future World Champion. As for the match, honestly, any of them could win this one but I think as he is returning I must give this one to Impact.
Tybo Predicts: Johnny Impact

Tessa Blanchard vs. Allie
There is no denying that Tessa Blanchard has made an impact since she has joined the Impact roster, she has quickly become one of the main heels in the whole Knockout division. So, who better to start a rivalry with than easily one of the most over people on the roster, Allie. Allie is not just over as a Knockout, there have been times that she has got the crowd pop of the night.

This match should be great, both Allie and Blanchard are solid in the ring. As for a finish, I think Rosemary will make her return I’m just not sure if it will be to save Allie or to attack Su Yung. Either way, I think they are going to make Blanchard look strong.
Tybo Predicts: Tessa Blanchard

5150 Street Fight: The OGz (Hernandez and Homicide with The King) vs. LAX (Santana and Ortiz with Konnan)
This match was a genius stroke, I thought there would be a point when the original LAX would show up and be a part of the new faction, secretly hoping it didn’t happen because that would be a crazy big team. The idea to have them against each other is a far better fit.

LAX has been on fire since the return of the faction, and with Konnan as the mouthpiece has been nothing short of fantastic. Now King is with the OGz this could be the start of an epic feud culminating in a match for the LAX name.

I think this one needs to go to LAX, to show dominance over the OGz to show the new LAX is here to stay. After the match, I can see a Konnan beatdown to keep the feud going.
Tybo Predicts: LAX

House of Hardcore Rules: Tommy Dreamer vs. Eddie Edwards
Eddie Edwards heel turn without turning heel has been great to watch, he has basically just completely lost his mind and doesn’t care. Before I get into his match with Dreamer, I must say that his rivalry with Sami Callihan has been nothing short of fantastic and is a strong contender for feud of the year.

I think this is perfect next step for the Edwards character, a blood feud with a friend allows Edwards to go one way or the other in dramatic fashion. Edwards with no doubt absolutely destroy Dreamer, but it’s what happens after the match that will be most interesting. If Eddie shows remorse he can head back to be a face but can see him doing something crazy as this new gimmick is money.
Tybo Predicts: Eddie Edwards

(Side Note: how interesting could it be if at some point in the future Edwards and Callihan became tag champs, using the idea that Callihan wanted to team with someone who was crazy enough try and kill him)

Mask vs. Hair: Pentagon Jr. vs. Sami Callihan
This could easily be the best and most brutal match, not only on this card but in Impact this year. It seems any feud that Callihan is involved in instantly becomes personal. Callihan is a rare talent and is absolute gold right now. He has turned an accident in the ring (hitting Eddie Edwards in the eye with a bat) into money-making heel gimmick and plays it to a tee. He quite honestly likes the gimmick.

Enter Pentagon, the man with no fear and you have perfect chemistry to make a long-lasting personal feud. Callihan is obsessed with being the most hated disrespectful wrestler around, and nothing gets heat like taking a lucha’s mask.

So, the mask vs hair match was made. History says that its rare that a lucha will lose his mask, but in this case, I think it’s going to take a whole lot to keep either man down. I think in the end it will be Callihan losing his hair, but the match will be brutal and a whole lot of bloodshed.
Tybo Predicts: Pentagon Jr.

Impact X Division Championship: Matt Sydal (c) vs. Brian Cage
The most interesting thing about this match is Brian Cage is an absolute powerhouse and is going for the X-Division Championship. The X Title was founded on ‘no limits, not weight limits’, this has been lost over recent years but with a 6 foot 200+ lb ‘swolverine’ going for the championship maybe things are changing.

Sydal has been a great X Champion, his slow transition into a solid heel has been great to watch, and he is great in the ring. That being said I think it would be a far more interesting move to have Cage win the Championship, purely because I have no idea who could beat him for it.

As for this match, I can see it being a great match with strength vs speed but in the end ‘The Machine’ will add another W to his undefeated streak.
Tybo Predicts: Brian Cage

Impact Knockouts Championship Su Yung (c) vs. Madison Rayne
Su Yung came out of nowhere and made an impact fast. It wasn’t long after her debut that she had won the Knockouts championship and disposed of the Rosemary (by throwing her in a casket and setting it on fire) if this not making an impact I don’t know what is.

This feels a lot like Rayne is ‘passing the torch’ but I hope that’s not the case. Rayne is still great in the ring, so I would love her to get one more solid run with the championship, maybe even drop it to Blanchard when the time is right.

As for this match, as I have said I think Rosemary is going to make an appearance at Slammiversary so if she doesn’t show up in the Blanchard vs Allie match to save Allie then she is without a doubt coming to get revenge on Yung in this one. It’s possible she will cost Yung the championship.
Tybo Predicts: Madison Rayne

Impact World Championship Austin Aries (c) vs. Moose
Firstly I just want to say, the new Impact Would Championship title looks fantastic. Now, Aries has been a godsend to Impact since his return. He has carried that title everywhere, and he has been around the world a lot in the last few months. Aries dubbing himself ‘the belt collector’ has won and defended no less than six different company’s world championships and has carried them all into every promotion. He even wrestled at Ring of Honor and still walked to the ring with the Impact Championship.

Now, I’m going to say is right off the bat, I’m not the biggest Moose fan. I think he was fine in the mid-card role and even as the Grand Champion. I think him going for the Impact World Championship at Slammiversary maybe a step too far. That being said I’m open to being proven wrong, Moose could be a great fit for the Championship and be an amazing champion once given the opportunity.

Its hard to see this match being a bad one, honestly, I can’t remember the last time I saw a bad Aries match so that is keeping me optimistic. Deep down I think this will be Moose’s night.
Tybo Predicts: Moose

(Bold Prediction: I have a feeling someone big is going to return or debut at the end of Slammiversary, call me crazy but I think we could see someone like Neville (I have no idea what his WWE contract situation is) show up to mix things up, or maybe Jack Swagger or Enzo)

So there are my predictions, but do you agree? Let me know below or on twitter @Tybo_SLTD and be sure to check out @SLTDWrestling on Sunday night where we will be live tweeting throughout the Slammiversary PPV.
