Who’s next to return to WWE?

Afternoon all, hope everyone had a good weekend, this week I am going to discuss who could be next to return to WWE? Ever since The Dudley Boyz’ surprise return three weeks ago, it’s led me to thinking who’s next? (Goldberg is not featured in this article.)

In recent years we’ve seen returns in WWE that we thought we’d never see. Brock Lesnar has returned, Chris Jericho returned, The Rock returned, The Dudley Boys and Sting. So who else could come back? Here are a few names that could return to WWE. (Note some of this is fantasy booking.)

Kurt Angle: One interesting development over the past week, were the comments made by Kurt Angle in an interview, Angle said that he would not re-sign with TNA when his contract expires in January. This led me to thinking will WWE and Angle come up with an agreement for a huge return for Angle in 2016, imagine at Wrestlemania 32 it’s Kurt Angle vs Daniel Bryan in a ultimate submission match.

The Hardy Boyz: Since the shock return of The Dudleys three weeks ago, could another Attitude Era team be in the line for a WWE return? Both Matt and Jeff much like Kurt Angle are contracted to TNA, however with recent issues over paying TNA talent and the fact that TNA are struggling, I wouldn’t be shocked if WWE are interested in bringing The Hardy Boyz home for one more run, much like The Dudleys. Alternatively Jeff Hardy could just return, imagine the matches he could have with Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose, Kevin Owens, Neville, Cesaro and many more. However if WWE bring back Jeff Hardy they also should bring back Matt Hardy, thus leading to a Hardy Boyz reunion.

Batista: It wouldn’t be a who’s next return? But it’ll be a return especially if it’s actually booked better than his last return, but I will be satisfied if Batista returned again. Batista’s last return wasn’t booked well at all, mainly due to it being spoiled weeks before, also the WWE Universe wanted Daniel Bryan to win the Royal Rumble, however it was pretty obvious that WWE were only bringing Batista back to win Royal Rumble and that’s why he was booed. So Batista should return, maybe feuding against The Authority, as he left them/Evolution the last time we saw him on TV.

Stone Cold Steve Austin: With the Texas Rattlesnake being heavily featured in WWE 2k16 I would think he will feature on TV, promoting the game. Also with Wrestlemania 32 being in his home state of Texas I would presume he will feature at Wrestlemania. So how about this, he is either the special guest host of Wrestlemania which seems likely or he is the special guest referee in The Rock vs Triple H match, it could be booked as Stone Cold hating The Rock, but also Stone Cold being anti – authority he would despise Triple H. It could end with Stone Cold hitting a Stunner onto Triple H into a Rock Bottom by The Rock.

Shane McMahon: Here comes the money, it seems as though at Wrestlemania 32 it could be The Authority’s last hurrah, so if The Authority lose power at Wrestlemania, there will need to be two new general managers for Raw and Smackdown, therefore the night after Wrestlemania, Stephanie makes her plea to her dad, for her to be the new general manager of Raw, Vince reveals that it will be a McMahon, but not Stephanie, then Shane’s music hits and there you go, the new general manager of Raw is revealed and it’s Shane O Mac.

Anyway that’s all from me this week, I’ll be back next week discussing Night Of Champions, until then follow me on Twitter @callumowen98 and @SLTDWrestling and like SLTD wrestling on Facebook and whatever it is on Instagram. Remember try and beat the brain for the Night of Champions fantasy league with SLTD wrestling. Enjoy Raw and Night Of Champions and any other wrestling promotions you may watch until next Monday.
