Welcome back to the Fox Files, and since Survivor Series is coming up, I thought I’d take you through my Top Five Survivor Series Matches:
5. CM Punk vs Alberto Del Rio- Survivor Series 2011
CM Punk had a historic 434 day WWE Championship reign, but this is where it all began by defeating ADR. It was a fantastic match which showed off the talent of these two men, and that’s coming from a guy that doesn’t like Del Rio that much! Even though you had Cena & Rock teaming up for the first time ever in a different match, this was the match that definitely stole the show.
4. The Rock vs Mankind- Survivor Series 1998
Two of the biggest superstars of the Attitude Era, and even in the history of WWE, went head to head for the WWE Championship, or WWF Championship at the time. It was a WrestleMania calibre match with The Rock walking out with the championship around his waist.
3. Batista vs Undertaker- Survivor Series 2007
There is no doubting that whenever these 2 stepped inside a ring to verse each other, that it would be one hell(no pun intended) of a match, but at Survivor Series 2007 the stakes couldn’t have got higher! It was a Hell In A Cell match for the World Heavyweight Championship, in may I add, was an absolutely brutal, edge of your seat type match, with Batista walking out victorious and retaining the Championship.
2. Bret Hart vs Stone Cold Steve Austin – Survivor Series 1996
Not only was this a #1 contenders match for the WWF World championship, but it is a rivalry we all know and remember, and memorable for all the right reasons. it was an outstanding match, and these 2 men sure know how to press those emotional buttons of us fans. the ever so controversial Bret Hart came away victorious.
1. Team Bischoff vs Team Austin – Survivor Series 2003
Now we’ve come to the best Survivor Series match in history and in my opinion it has to be a traditional Survivor Series match, as Team Bischoff (Chris Jericho, Christian, Mark Henry, Ready Orton & Scott Steiner) take on Team Austin(The Dudley Boyz, Shawn Michaels, Booker T and Rob Van Dam) at Survivor Series 2003. The reason why I picked this match is the fact that it was one of those matches where it would action packed, and the storytelling during the match was outstanding. Team Bischoff been victorious.
