Hello, ladies and gentleman. Welcome back to the Fox Files during Royal Rumble weekend. Today, I’m going to take a slightly different approach and discuss NXT TakeOver Phoenix, and one particular match in what is looking likely to be slated as the main event: Tommaso Ciampa vs Aleister Black for the NXT Championship. Let’s not waste anymore time and get underway…
Now with all the other matches on the NXT TakeOver card, I have looked at it and thought they could honestly go either way, and it wouldn’t hurt any of the superstars. However with this one, in my opinion, Tommaso Ciampa CANNOT afford a loss here!
So here me out for a second: there’s only ever being one superstar in NXT history who has pinned Aleister Black in the middle of the ring and that’s Ciampa’s former tag team partner, Johnny Gargano. Ciampa has being one of the greatest NXT Champions. (and if that doesn’t tell you how good he is, then I don’t know what will)
To really solidify himself as champion and his entire reign, have him pin Aleister Black. Black can afford to take the pinfall here because it doesn’t take away from his character, mystique or what he’s done in NXT. He’s already accomplished everything there is and I can see Black actually being called up as a surprise after this event, maybe even being in the Royal Rumble match.
Afterwards, they are going to get Gargano involved somehow, whether he’s the one to challenge Ciampa, or they reunite as DIY with both of them holding championship gold, either way, Tommaso Ciampa needs to win this match.
